The scorching summer calls for a tall glass of chilled, delicious, and refreshing iced tea. It’s one of the best ways to cool down on a hot, sunny day. And you can have so much fun with the flavours, as we discovered recently. Whether you like classic lemon iced teas or the flavoured kind, we’ve got iced tea recipes for every kind of taste. So, get that pitcher because it is time to stir up some super easy and tasty iced teas!

1. Lemon basil iced tea

Ingredients:

1/2 lemon, thinly sliced

6 fresh basil leaves

2 green tea bags

3 cups hot water

Raw honey, optional

Method:

Add the lemon slices, fresh basil leaves, and green tea bags to a 100 ml mason jar or pitcher. Next, pour hot water into the mason jar, and allow to steep for 15 minutes. Then, remove the tea bags, stir in honey, and place the jar into the fridge to completely chill for 3-4 hours. Once the flavours are released, you can add some ice to the glasses before pouring the tea. Enjoy chilled!

2. Pineapple iced tea

Ingredients:

4 cups water

7 tea bags

2 tbsp sugar

1 cup pineapple juice

1/3 cup lemon juice

Pineapple wedges, lemon slices, and fresh mint leaves for garnish

Method:

Take a large saucepan, bring water to a boil, and then remove from heat. Next, add tea bags and let them steep in the covered pan for 3-5 minutes or longer if you want the taste to be stronger. Then, discard the tea bags and stir in sugar until dissolved. Transfer the tea to a pitcher and let it come to room temperature before stirring in pineapple and lemon juice. Cover and refrigerate it overnight or for two hours. Serve chilled and garnish with pineapple and lemon wedges. Share this delicious iced tea recipe with your friends to spread the joy.

3. Pomegranate and lime iced tea

Method:

Pour the water into a heat-resistant pitcher. Add the tea bags and let them steep for 10 minutes. Remove the bags and allow the tea to come to room temperature before refrigerating. Next, add the pomegranate juice, limes, and sugar, and stir well. Serve over ice once chilled. Make a big batch and enjoy this refreshing flavoured iced tea.

4. Raspberry iced tea

Ingredients:

8 and 1/2 cups water

3 cups sugar

5 tea bags

3-4 cups fresh or frozen unsweetened raspberries

Method:

Take a large saucepan and bring 4 cups of water to a boil and stir in sugar until it is dissolved. Remove from the heat and add tea bags. Now, steep for 5-8 minutes, discard the tea bags, and add 4 cups of water. Meanwhile, in another saucepan, bring raspberries and remaining water to a boil. Then reduce the heat, cover the pan, and simmer for 5 minutes. Once done, strain and discard pulp. Lastly, add raspberry mixture to the tea mixture and let it chill for at least an hour. Add ice to the glasses, pour the chilled raspberry tea, and enjoy!

5. Minty tea punch

8 cups water

12 mint sprigs

4 tea bags

1 cup orange juice

1/4 cup lemon juice

1/2 cup sugar

Ice cubes

Orange and lemon slices for garnish

Method:

Take a large saucepan and boil 3 cups of water in it. Remove it from the heat and add mint and tea bags. Let them steep in the covered pan for about 5 minutes. Next, discard the mint and tea bags and add orange and lemon juice, sugar, and the remaining water. Transfer the tea to a pitcher and refrigerate it until chilled. Serve this tasty iced tea over ice and add orange and lemon slices for garnish.

6. Peach ginger iced tea

Ingredients:

1 peach, pitted and sliced

2 green tea bags

3-4 thinly sliced pieces of ginger 

3 cups hot water

Raw honey, optional

Method:

Take a jar or a pitcher and add the sliced peach and green tea bags to it along with thin pieces of ginger. Place the ginger pieces on a toothpick to discard them easily. Muddle the peaches a little so they release their flavour. Next, pour the hot water into the jar, and allow the mixture to steep for 15 minutes. Then, remove the tea bags and place the tea into the fridge to completely chill for 3-4 hours and for the flavours to release. This flavoured iced tea recipe is so easy that you can make it every second day.

7. Cranberry and orange iced tea

Ingredients:

1 small orange
2-3 green/black tea bags
4 cups boiling water
2 cups orange juice
4 cups cranberry juice
2 tbsp caster sugar

Method:

Start by peeling the rind from the orange and use a small sharp knife to remove the white pith from the rind. Then, in a heat-proof jug, add the rinds, tea bags, and pour the boiling water. Cover and let it steep for about 20 minutes. Next, discard the rinds and tea bags from the jug and add sugar, cranberry, and orange juice, and stir well. Let the tea chill in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours. Once you are ready to serve, cut some orange slices for garnish and serve over ice.

8. Mock tea sangria

Ingredients:

3 cups water

1/2 cup cranberry juice

Method:

In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil, remove from heat, add the tea bags, and let it steep for about 5 minutes. While the tea steeps, add the raspberries in a blender and process them till they turn into a fine puree. Sieve the puree into the bowl and keep it aside. Next, discard the tea bags and add the puree, juices, lime, and lemon slices in a jar, and stir well. Let the tea chill overnight in the refrigerator. Once you are ready to serve, pour the soft drink into the mixture along with ice and enjoy!
