The thing about winter is that it can get super chilly and that makes you miss even the worst summer you may have encountered. In times like these, you look forward to whatever little sunlight you can get. Moreover, you look forward to cute little picnic spots for a memorable sunny weekend. However, with the ongoing pandemic, thoughts of all outdoor activities bring an instant fear to mind. But don’t worry, we have given it some thought and have come up with a few ways to enjoy the 2020 winter season. So, before planning your next outing, consider the following winter picnic ideas that you can explore even during a pandemic.
1. Meals on wheels
If you’ve got a spacious car, there’s really nothing that you need to worry about. Simply park your car at a spot with a view, fold the seats to make space, and you have your very own portable picnic spot!
2. Picnic on a balcony
After having spent so much time at home in 2020, every corner of the house has made a special place in our hearts. Your balconies and terraces, however, have the potential to go up a notch by being the perfect picnic spots. Spread out some nice rugs, lay your picnic spread out, and have a lovely time under the sun.
3. Lavish lawn eat n’ greet
Not all of us are lucky enough to have balconies and terraces. But what we can get our hands on is a nice corner spot at a community park or lawn. Most societies have provisions for lawns that can be used for such picnics. All you need to remember is to clean up once you’re done.
4. Picnic with nature
If your city has any beautiful natural sites like a river or lake, a beautiful sunny day would give you the perfect opportunity to enjoy a picnic with your gang AND nature! Open spaces give you enough area to practice social distancing too.
5. Hilltop vibes
You would probably consider this as one of the few weird winter picnic ideas given the low temperatures and chill in the air. But, there is nothing that compares to sipping on your favourite hot beverage while sitting on a hilltop with a beautiful valley as your view.
6. Snowy affairs
As someone who has never seen snow in her life, this is something that is at the top of my bucket list. A picnic with my family on a snow-clad mountain. It not only gives you a great view and a lot of space for social distancing, but it also makes for a great memory to reflect on in the future.
