The spooky season just got fun and a tad spookier with Katrina Kaif, Ishaan Khatter, and Siddhant Chaturvedi’s Phone Bhoot. The trio of witty and hilarious ghostbusters and one gorgeous bhootni to help them with their business is an entertainer through and through. The not-so-subtle pop culture references are pretty spot on and keep the story from getting mundane. Here’s our Phone Bhoot review.

The ghostbusters’ bhootiyapa is a laughter riot

Major (Siddhant) and Gullu (Ishaan) are two horror fanatics who can see spirits and live a full-on bhootiya style life. But, like always, following your passion can’t always help you earn money, especially when you have a debt of ₹5,00,00,000 on your head. So, in order to prove themselves as true ghostbusters, they decide to take their job seriously. And they have the help of a very gorgeous bhatakti aatma, Ragini (Katrina). She suggests a business plan to Gullu and Major to thug people and earn some big bucks. But all she asks is a favour in return and she won’t take no for an answer when the time comes.

The pop culture references are spot on!

The movie is an entertainer through and through, and the trio keeps you on the edge of your seat with silly jokes and endless pop culture references. From Katrina doing a full seductive Slice advertisement to get the boys to agree with her to bahut hard being referenced while Siddhant gets beaten up, it’s sewn into the scenes effortlessly. We even get to see the Fukrey movie gang pulling a prank on our ghostbusters which goes viral and makes their business meme material. And not to give any spoilers, we also have Jackie Shroff in the movie getting a moment with his flute doing the Hero movie theme song.

Great performances and a crazy good star cast

Who thought that Katrina, Siddhant, and Ishaan could make a great team? And not just in their ghost-busting business but also on the screen. The trio had amazing chemistry and to see Katrina being the leading lady in such a role was a total treat to watch. Her two co-stars made a hilarious Tamil and Punjabi duo. Along with that, Jackie Shroff was completely in his element as the villain and put on a great show effortlessly.

Phone Bhoot is a horror comedy like none you’ve seen before. So, book your tickets as it is now available in cinemas near you.
