Another year is coming to an end, and it’s finally time to set some new resolutions for the new year. Whether we follow through with them or not is a different question altogether. Like every year, as 2023 closes, I am ready to write down my resolutions for 2024, hoping against hope that I’ll finally do them all. Thankfully, it’s not just me who is struggling, my team at All About Eve is also ready with their 2024 resolutions, keeping their fingers crossed that they’ll follow through. So, here are the New Year resolutions for 2024 that Team All About Eve has set for themselves.
“Take a solo trip to escape Delhi’s pollution” – Aarati
No, I don’t mean a trip back home, which I already do a couple of times a year. I want to go on a proper vacation in 2024, all by my lonesome, get mildly drunk with some random strangers, meet new people, and finally find people who’ll give me some freelance work. I’ve heard there’s no better networking opportunity than travelling alone. So, that’s my New Year’s resolution for 2024.
“To use my colourful eye shadow palettes and bring some colour into my life” – Ravnoor
Ravnoor feels she could use a little colour in her life, so she has decided to park her usual brown, nude and neutral eyeshadows for a bit, and have fun with the colourful palettes. You gotta start somewhere, and some dramatic blue, green and yellow eyes are a good starting point.
“Travel every time mom says shaadi kar le” – Vrinda
Travel is on Vrinda’s mind, and she is using her mom as the perfect excuse to do so. Her New Year resolution for 2024 is to travel every time her mother hits her with a ‘shaadi kar le’ dialogue. Knowing Indian moms, Vrinda is likely to travel at least once a month, if not more, or her mother will finally stop asking her about her wedding plans for fear of going broke.
“Learn kickboxing so men are a little scared of me” – Sukhmani
There is no better reason to learn a form of martial art than to put the fear of God, or in this case the fear of Sukhmani, in men. It also helps that kickboxing is a good exercise, and the final payoff will motivate Sukhmani to actually be regular at her kickboxing classes. Now, this is a 2024 New Year resolution I can get behind.
“Uninstall food delivery apps and save 70% of my salary” – Ufaira
I have tried this with no luck, but here’s hoping Ufaira can finally save up to 70% of her salary by uninstalling Zomato, Swiggy and the like. If you ask me, food is the reason I live, but if Ufaira is set to give up on random ordering when she isn’t even hungry, she has my full support. You go, girl!
“Finally follow a skincare routine so I can glow like a star” – Pravika
Pravika realised quite early on that stardom is not her cup of tea, but that doesn’t mean she can’t look like a star. So, her New Year resolution for 2024 is to follow a proper day and night skincare routine to get that smooth and supple skin. One can glow like a star, even if they can’t be one.
“Go on a solo date twice a month” – Kavya
Since Kavya doesn’t have a partner to take her out on dates, she decided to do it herself. Why should couples have all the fun? And this is one New Year resolution I can support 100%. Personally tried and tested, there is nothing better than taking yourself out on a date.
