1. Turmeric and besan

A turmeric and besan face pack is one of the most popular combinations to exfoliate and brighten the skin. It also removes fine facial hair and tanning. Turmeric, as we know, is an antiseptic and has anti-bacterial properties that fight off bacteria. Besan exfoliates the skin by removing dead cells and fine facial hair, and it also maintains the pH balance of the skin.

How to use it: Mix 1 tbsp each of besan and rosewater with 1/2 tbsp of turmeric powder and make a thick paste. Apply it on your face, leave it on for 15 minutes, and wash it off with cool water. Do this once a week for best results.

2. Aloe vera and turmeric

Turmeric and aloe vera make for an amazing remedy for acne. Aloe vera has cooling properties that calm irritated and inflamed skin. Along with turmeric, it fights the acne causing bacteria and controls excess oil on the skin.

How to use it: Mix 2 tbsp of aloe vera gel and 1 tbsp of turmeric powder, and make a paste. Apply it on your face for about 20 mins, and wash it off with cool water. Do this twice a week for best results.

3. Multani mitti and tomato juice

Multani mitti can do absolute wonders for your skin. It removes dead skin, impurities, and reduces tanning. Paired with tomato juice, it helps in lightening dark spots and nourishes the skin thoroughly.

How to use it: Take 2 tbsp of multani mitti, 1/2 tsp of sandalwood powder, 1 tbsp of tomato juice, and a splash of rosewater. Make a paste, apply it on your face, and wash it off with cool water once it dries. Do this twice a week for best results.

4. Neem powder and honey

Neem is a natural healer that repairs your skin from within. With its antiseptic properties, it helps reduce acne and its residual scars. Along with honey, which is rich in antioxidants, it helps repair the skin from cell damage.

How to use it: Take 2 tsp of neem powder, 1 tbsp of honey and 1 tsp of apple cider vinegar. Make a paste and let it cool in a refrigerator for five minutes. Once it is cold, apply this paste on your face and wash it off after 20 minutes with lukewarm water. Do this twice a week for best results.

5. Papaya and sandalwood

If you’ve been trying to get glowing and gorgeous skin without makeup, this is going to be your favourite homemade face pack. Papaya naturally moisturises your skin and removes excess oil and dullness, making your skin look radiant. Along with sandalwood powder, which fights off signs of premature ageing, it is a great pack for exfoliation too.

How to use it: Take 1/3 bowl of papaya and mash it. To this, add 1/2 tsp each of sandalwood powder and aloe vera gel, and mix it with a splash of rosewater. Make a fine paste, apply it on your face for 20 minutes, and wash it off with cool water. Do this thrice a week.

6. Sandalwood, yogurt and honey

Sandalwood is great for de-tanning and removing impurities from the skin. And yogurt is a cooling agent that calms the skin and reduces inflammation. These two, along with honey, help reduce dullness and skin tanning and nourish the skin from within.

How to use it: Mix 3 tbsp of sandalwood powder with 1 tbsp each of yogurt and honey to make a paste. Apply this paste on your face and neck, and leave it on for 30 minutes. Once it dries, wash it off with cool water. Do this twice a week.

7. Fenugreek (methi)

Fenugreek has many antiseptic and antibiotic properties that heal the skin and fight off infections. It also cools down inflamed and irritated skin caused due to acne. Methi can also get rid of the spots and scars caused by acne.

How to use it: Soak 2-3 tsp of fenugreek seeds in water overnight. The next day, make a fine paste of the seeds and apply it all over your face. Leave it on till it dries and wash it off with cool water. Do this twice a week.

8. Sandalwood and almonds

Sandalwood is a great brightening agent, and pairing it with other ingredients that are good for your skin can give you great results. Almonds and sandalwood make for one such glorious combination. Almonds are a rich source of Vitamin E and help in making the skin supple and soft.

How to use it: Mix 1 tbsp of sandalwood powder with 1 tbsp of almond powder, and add a few drops of milk to this mixture. Make a fine paste, apply it on your face and neck, and leave it on for about 20 minutes. Wash it off with cool water once it has dried. Do this twice a week.
