What is a good bahu? What should you seek most if you’re looking for unpaid labour a bahu? What do you need to do to become a good bahu? Very important question this is, bachche. And it’s become even more important because Meghan is saying allllll kinds of nonsense these days when she was such a bad bahu. Kate told me everything! She used to call Kate by her name (how un-sanskaari!) and didn’t even add ji or didi with it. Don’t go by Meghan’s words in that interview, bachche. Listen to me and only me.

The most important achievement of your life (as a lady) is to become the best bahu ever. So I decided to test you all a bit and ask about the most essential quality in a good bahu. And your answers are just…beautiful.

So, if you’re looking for a biwi for your brother (because I’m not of the age to talk to MILs just yet), or if you’re planning to become someone’s ghar ki izzat, please read my answers to your answers.

Umeshgupta376 thinks the most important quality in a bahu is Jewellery

Arre Gupta ji, itna direct? No no, this is not the way to do. If we are looking for jewellery, we need to find a status wala khaandaan, haina? Now if we say only jewellery and don’t specify the weight, carats, colour of stones, how many stones, and most importantly, how many sets, we can land up with a bahu in tiny earrings, like Meghan on her wedding day! And that is just haye tauba level of embarrassment. Imagine borrowing your grand saasu’s tiara at the last minute!

Kriti_singhania thinks a good bahu should be “adjusting”

Mm-hmm. What’s with the quotes, bachche? Already preparing for bad bahu sarcasm, are we? Yes, you must be adjusting. Adjust to your saasu like my good friend Kate did with all her saasus, adjust to your husband’s weird habits like Kate did (Willy gives his hair a pep talk every morning), and adjust to your devraani like…okay, so Kate didn’t do this, which is why she’s just 90 percent perfect bahu.

Jc_tandoori says sanskaar and round rotis are important in a good bahu

You know, this reminds me of what Kate once told me about Meghan. Their daadi saasu asked for her regular mooli ke paranthe for breakfast. And of course, Kate told her devraani to make them. Oh ho ho ho, beta ji, the drama that happened then! Meghan turned to Kate and said that she didn’t marry a prince to make paranthas like every other bahu and since she wasn’t going to be queen anyway, she didn’t need to suck up to daadi saasu. Meghan also said that she isn’t going to make the lunch rotis anymore because Charles sasur said they weren’t round enough! Now look what’s happening in their family! So, yes, sanskaar and round rotis are very, very important to learn if you want to be a good bahu and live a non-controversial life.

Roopyadav0309 says a good bahu should be talkative

Be careful what you wish for! Charles and Camilla also wanted a talkative bahu for Harry. And now look how she’s giving interviews to Oprah massi. So talkative!

Thenovemberschild says a good bahu should “listen” to everything the mother-in-law says and obey all orders. She should never object to elders and never say no to youngsters of the family.

I think you are also going down the slippery slope of sarcasm, bachche. “Listen” and all! It’s not going to go well for you. Don’t even try to be a bahu. And if you’re trying to find a wife for your brother, you’ll only get a Meghan with this attitude, not a precious Kate.
