1. Emilia Pérez

Set in Mexico, an infamous drug dealer, Manitas Del Monte hires an experienced lawyer, Rita, to help him escape from the city. The advocate agrees to his wish to start a new life as Emilia Pérez, the woman Manitas has always dreamt of being. As Rita produces fake evidence of his death, Manitas begins to live as Emilia, his new identity. But things go haywire when his past starts to haunt him. 2. The Brutalist

László Toth, a Hungarian Jewish architect, flees Europe after World War II to begin a new life in America. The film tells the story of a refugee’s journey who has to bear the brunt of the past and the tragic present with no clarity of the future. Adrien Brody, Felicity Jones, Guy Pearce, Emma Laird, Stacy Martin, and Joe Alwyn play lead roles in the movie.

3. The Substance

4. I’m Still Here

Set in 1970 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the movie taps into the brutality faced by Brazil under military dictatorship. Eunice Paiva, a mother of five children, is compelled to reinvent her life as the government exploits her family. Based on Marcelo Rubens Paiva’s biographical book, the film brings the real incident to light to portray Brazil’s mysterious history. The film stars Fernanda Torres, Selton Mello, and Fernanda Montenegro in the lead.

5. Challengers

Tashi, a tennis player turned coach, transforms her husband from a mediocre player to an acclaimed champion. 7. A Different Man

The movie stars Adam Pearson as Oswald, a man with a genetic disorder called neurofibromatosis, a progressive disease that causes tumours to grow on nerves and spread in the spinal cord, brain, and face before it moves on to the rest of the body. The psychological black comedy thriller explores his life and how he idealises an aspiring playwright, Edward. Oswald also develops romantic feelings for his neighbour, Ingrid Vold, but holds back as he fears she wouldn’t reciprocate. 8. Conclave

The movie follows the secretive and ancient ritual of selecting the new Pope after the death of the previous one. Conclave consists of a spectacular cast including Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci, John Lithgow, and Thomas Loibl among other stars.

9. A Real Pain

Two cousins, David and Benji, visit Poland to immerse the ashes of their grandmother. As they set their differences aside, they are stunned to know some peculiar secrets of their family’s lineage related to concentration camps. Jesse Eisenberg, Kieran Culkin, Will Sharpe, Jennifer Grey, Kurt Egyiawan, and Liza Sadovy are the main performers in the movie.
