Looks like Vir Das is making a comeback to Bollywood with another laughter riot, aka the upcoming web series Call Me Bae. Who could the Bae be? To no surprise, it’s Ananya Panday, our forever bae. The trailer is packed with fashion and humour. Ananya Panday stars as a South Delhi princess, Bella ‘Bae’ Chowdhary, born with a golden spoon. Her family has no such thing as “too much bling”.
You’ll be amazed to see some underrated faces in the cast, even though one of the producers is Karan Johar. The Call Me Bae trailer has us eagerly awaiting the release of the series. The story revolves around Bella, whose life turns upside down when she no longer has her ‘privilege card’. Going from riches to rags, losing out on money and the luxurious lifestyle, the “middle class would be an upgrade” for her. Bella finds herself hustling on the streets of Mumbai like a regular person. For someone who has always been on Page 3, with people catering to her every need, Bella now has to look for a job. Sounds like a fun ride, doesn’t it?

Vir Das’ comic timing has not only gotten him an Emmy but also our hearts. He stars as Satyajit Sen, a journalist who addresses Bella as a minion. He casually scoffs at her introduction and asks her to handle the show’s lighting (pure hustle).
The trailer ends on a humorous note with a throwback to one of Ananya’s most popular interviews on nepotism and struggles and Siddhant Chaturvedi’s response to her.
Watch the trailer of Call Me Bae, starring Ananya Panday, Vir Das, Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, Muskkaan Jaferi, Niharika Lyra Dutt, Lisa Mishra, and Mini Mathur here. The web series is set to release on September 6.
