Water is the best drink for the summer, but everyone needs a little kick now and then. And what’s better than some refreshing, fruity, and boozy concoctions to kill the summer blues? So, here are some frozen margarita recipes that will make your weekend merrier.
1. Classic Frozen Margarita
Ingredients:
2-4 lime wedges (for garnish)
Sea salt (to rim the glass)
250 ml silver tequila
120 ml Triple Sec
60 ml freshly-squeezed lemon juice
120 ml sugar syrup
2-3 cups of ice cubes
Method:
To begin with, start by taking a deep dish and adding lemon juice to it and, on another plate, add sea salt. Dip the top of the glasses in lemon juice and then rim them nicely by swirling around in the salt. Keep them aside and start prepping your frozen margaritas. Put all the ingredients, except the lemon wedge, in a blender and blend for about 30 seconds till the mix comes to a slushy consistency. You can add more ice if you think it looks a little runny. Blend again for about 20 seconds till everything is well combined. Pour the fresh margaritas into the rimmed glasses and top off each glass with lime wedges.
2. Frozen Mango Jalapeno Margaritas
Ingredients:
500 ml silver tequila
1-2 jalapeno peppers cut into small rings
150 ml sugar syrup
500 ml chopped and frozen mangoes
150 ml Triple sec
2-3 cups of ice
2-3 tbsp lemon juice and salt for rimming glasses
Method:
Put the tequila and the jalapeno in an airtight container and keep aside for at least 24 hours. The longer you keep it, the spicier the tequila will be. You can even leave it for a week! So, when you are ready to make the margaritas, add all the ingredients in the blender and strain the spicy tequila into it. Keep the jalapenos aside to add them later. Now, blend everything together till it comes to your desired consistency, and keep the mix aside. Meanwhile, rim your glasses with lemon juice and salt, and then pour the margaritas into them. Garnish with jalapeno slices.
