With the day of love upon us, the pressure to celebrate love and have a significant other is immense. But this Valentine’s Day, instead of celebrating someone else, why don’t we celebrate ourselves? Still not sure about this? Here are eight ways to celebrate this Valentine’s Day alone and have a great time.
1. Plan a self care day

Put on a sheet mask and relax. Have some tea and listen to your favourite music. You know, you can also read that book that you have been putting off for so long. Whatever floats your boat.

2. Go on a date (but with yourself)

How many times have you gone on a date which turned out to be terrible? More often than not, right? Well, this is your moment to shine. Put on your favourite dress, go to that restaurant that you’ve wanted to try, and treat yourself, sis. You deserve it.
3. Write yourself a love letter

This might sound stupid and cheesy AF. But honey, writing is one of the most liberating things. Compliment yourself, acknowledge your thoughts, and just be kind to you. This letter doesn’t have to be all cheesy or even filled with compliments if that’s not what you want. You can always pen down whatever you are feeling at that very moment. That’s always an option. Just saying.
4. Splurge on something that you always wanted

There are times when we want something really badly but we always stop ourselves from splurging. We get you, girl. But it’s okay to splurge on yourself sometimes. Go get that thing that you’ve always wanted. It doesn’t have to be something huge. It could be as simple as a pair of boots.
5. Acknowledge your accomplishments

We always tend to think about the future and the goals to be accomplished by a certain time in life. But we also need to take a break and pause for a moment to acknowledge where we have already reached. So, this Valentine’s Day, write three things that you have accomplished and are proud of. I know it’s difficult but this is an important task.
6. Do something that you love

What makes you genuinely happy? It could be anything from dancing to painting. Just spend a day doing that. Do more of what you love. If you can’t think of anything, you can always order a pizza and watch your favourite TV series. Trust me, it will be a great experience.
7. Rest

Another way to celebrate yourself is to give your body some rest. So, if you have been working hard for the past couple of weeks, use Valentine’s Day as a day to unwind. You can relax by having a nice bubble bath and a glass of wine. You can also catch up on your sleep. Lastly, if you would like to splurge a bit, you can book yourself a luxury spa.
8. Plan a trip

Take some money out of your savings and plan a trip. It doesn’t have to something epic or extravagant. You can just go somewhere close. There are so many places for a weekend getaway near the major cities of India. Trips are also a great way to reconnect with yourself and rejuvenate your energy. If you live in Delhi, here are some of the places that you can visit for a snowy weekend.
Have a great Valentine’s Day, you.
