1. Chopta Tungnath

Chopta is one of the coldest places in Uttarakhand. If you desperately want to see snow and don’t want to want to take any chances, Chopta is the place for you. The temperature there tends to go to sub-zero levels in the winter. If you want to make a long vacation out of it, you can also stop on the way in Rishikesh or take a detour to Mussoorie. The best time to visit is between November and March.
How to reach Chopta:
Since Chopta is not connected with any public transport, the best way to reach Chopta is by taking a taxi or driving your car. However, you can take a flight, train or bus to Dehradun and get a taxi from there. You can also take a bus to Ukhimath or Guptkashi from Dehradun and take a taxi to Chopta.
Chopta is about seven hours away from Dehradun by road and about two hours away from Guptkashi.

If you are a beginner, this trek is perfect for you as this is regarded as the easiest Himalayan trek. A place with beautiful sunsets, scenic beauty, and a pinch of adventure, Triund is perfect for a winter adventure.

You can easily take an overnight Volvo bus from Delhi to Dharamshala or Mcleodganj. The journey takes around 10-12 hours.

3. Manali

One of the best places near Delhi for snowfall is Manali. Some of the snow points near Manali are Solang Valley, Gulaba, or Marhi. You can find snow here from mid-November to late March. Places like Rohtang Pass witness snow till as late as June. Some of the activities that you need to experience here are skiing, snowboarding, and snowmobiling.

The most economical and convenient way to reach Manali is by road. You can rent a car or book a private bus. Besides that, Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) also offers services from New Delhi to Manali.

4. Shimla

Shimla is one of the most popular holiday destinations in north India. Located around 342 km from Delhi, Shimla is easily accessible by road. You can either take a bus or drive your car to reach this gorgeous destination. Some of the activities that you can explore here are skiing and ice-skating.

The easiest way to reach Shimla is by road. The total journey takes around 10 hours on a bus. But if you wish to travel by train or air, those options are also available. You can take a flight from New Delhi to Chandigarh and then a bus from Chandigarh to Shimla.

If you love skiing, Auli is the perfect destination for you. It has skiing slopes that are 2,500-3,000 meters high. Apart from skiing, you can also visit Chenab Lake and Auli Lake.
