Sonam Kapoor Ahuja is undoubtedly one of the best-dressed actors in Bollywood. From movie promotions and weddings to red carpets, she has given us some of the most stunning Indian looks. We love the timeless sarees, rich, colourful lehengas, and statement suits that she has worn over the years. So, on her 36th birthday, we are recounting some of Sonam Kapoor’s best Indian outfits!
1. Pink saree dress
Sonam rocked this Anamika Khanna saree dress on the Cannes red carpet back in 2014, and we are still in love with this look. It is super elegant and makes quite a statement. Because that is how you turn heads on an international red carpet!
2. Rust handloom saree
The rust-coloured saree which Sonam wore on National Handloom Day was a 10/10. The simple saree with a matching jacket and choker made for a royal and classy look. This is definitely one of our many favourites.
3. Ivory chikankari lehenga
Sonam Kapoor’s outfits as a wedding guest are something we all look up to for inspiration. And this gorgeous chikankari lehenga from Isha Ambani’s engagement is drop-dead gorgeous. This Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla outfit, paired with polki jewellery, is just pure #fashiongoals!
4. The crushed golden lehenga
Crushing on crushed! Sonam wore this stunning gold lehenga for an event in Abu Dhabi and made our jaws drop. The plunging neckline of the matching lehenga set is adding extra oomph to her look. The outfit was paired with a diamond and pearl set with a matching bracelet and small hoops.
5. The ivory gota saree
Celebrity weddings are star-studded affairs with eye-catching outfits. And style diva Sonam knows how to make a statement wherever she goes. So, when she wore Good Earth’s ivory gota saree for Armaan Jain’s wedding reception, she managed to stand out with the relative simplicity of her outfit. The draping style of the pallu, along with her vintage jewellery, added an old-world charm to the whole look!
6. Yellow and green silk kurta set
Sonam Kapoor is known for her vivacious and intriguing outfits. And this Raw Mango silk kurta set fits that description perfectly. The contrast silk green jacket layered on the yellow kurta with brocade pants is a total game-changer, and those juttis and the pearl set finish off the look neatly.
7. Daisy printed organza saree
Sonam is the queen of red carpets, and there are endless statement outfits that we love from her red carpet collection. One such outfit is Masaba Gupta x Rhea Kapoor’s daisy printed organza saree that she wore for the Amazon Filmfare Awards. The intricate detailing on the saree is beautiful, and the daisy print blouse adds a modern touch to the outfit. Also, let’s not forget about those stunning pearl danglers!
8. Pink mirrorwork lehenga
When Sonam Kapoor walked for Abhinav Mishra’s 2019 show, she looked like a real maharani in an elegant pink mirrorwork lehenga. The signature lehenga from Abhinav Mishra’s collection was truly splendid and was one of Sonam Kapoor’s best outfits.
9. Printed green saree
This is undoubtedly one of Sonam Kapoor’s most iconic looks. The printed summery saree from Masaba Gupta is fun, light, and breezy. The square neckline and ruffled sleeves add a very interesting touch to this number. Paired with silver jewellery and a matching silver handbag, this look can easily be replicated for a mehendi or cocktail.
10. Red kurta and palazzo set
This red kurta and palazzo set from Gulaabo is a minimalistic yet beautiful outfit. Sonam opted for this gota patti outfit for the promotions of The Zoya Factor. The matching potli bag, juttis, statement chaand balis, and bracelet bring the whole look together so gracefully!
11. Red angrakha style anarkali
Another one of our favourite looks from the promotions of The Zoya Factor is this stunning red angrakha style anarkali suit. The heavy handwork with brocade sleeves and pants combine tradition and modernity seamlessly. Sonam worked this look with a matching handbag, juttis, braided hair, and a chic golden choker.
12. Dusty golden suit
This look is timeless with its dusty golden hue with embroidered dupatta. The red roses and sequined green leaves add a statement to the minimal and subtle look, giving it an edge. The simple jewellery and matching potli compliment the outfit really well too!
