As much as we love to go out and spend our weekends outside, it is not going to be the case this time. The COVID-19 pandemic is looming over us and the only escape is to stay home. In order to prevent the coronavirus from spreading more, social distancing is the need of the hour. Practices like working from home, maintaining a distance of one metre from other people, and washing your hands often are advised as important measures.
But that’s no reason not to enjoy the weekend. Staying indoors can be fun too. So, we curated a list of all the things you can do over the weekend indoors, so that you stay home and stay safe.
1. Netflix and Chill

If you’ve always had shows and movies lined up to watch, here’s your chance. And you know what’s even better? Watching them with your friends. We know that social distancing is important, but Netflix has figured out how to party while staying safe. Netflix has a new Google Chrome extension which lets you watch movies or shows with your friends in their own homes, and chat with them on a side chat bar. Check out how to do it right here.
2. Workout at home
You can’t go to the gym right now since they’ve been shut down across the country. But you can still work out. Since you now have plenty of time, why not sweat it out at home? There are plenty of home workouts that will challenge you and push your body, like your workouts in the gym. This is also a great way to make sure you stay healthy at a time when we’re all fighting a pandemic.

Do what they like doing since they’re stuck at home too. Try introducing new books to them or, if you have a garden, involve them in its maintenance. Make some memories and have some fun while you can.

9. Call up your loved ones
Social distancing does not mean you cannot catch up with your friends. Reconnect with your friends and family, and give them a phone call. Even better, make it a video call and see their faces light up. Catch up on some family gossip, and get to spend time with your loved ones, even if it is over a call. You can even host a karaoke night over video calls and play charades.
10. Give yourself a makeover
Who knows how long you will have to stay indoors? Why not just give yourself a makeover? Try an at-home spa, sheet masks, dye your hair, paint your nails, try a makeup tutorial and have some fun. You could also try out some new fashion fads and trends and see what works for you.
11. Learn a new language or skill
If you have been thinking of learning a new language or a new skill, do it. It could be fun, innovative and a learning experience for you.
