The movie starts with Ananya (Sanya Malhotra) rejecting Sunny’s (Varun Dhawan) proposal because, according to her, they were in a situationship for two years and not a relationship. And now, she’s all ready to marry Vikram Singh (Rohit Saraf), who is rich, classy, and approved by her family. After the massive failure of Sunny’s elaborate proposal, he decides to find out who Vikram is. Sunny, along with his jigri dost, Bantu, discovers that just like Ananya, Vikram dumped Tulsi (Janhvi) to marry someone of his class and status. That’s when Sunny reaches out to Tulsi and convinces her to crash the grand wedding and win their love back. And from there, the ride only gets crazier.

The movie has all the right vibes

The movie starts light with punchlines and cheeky Bollywood references that make you laugh. The first half is full masala entertainment. Post-interval, the tone shifts, taking on bigger issues like patriarchy and gender roles while still keeping the humour alive. So yes, it’s dramatic and flashy, but also manages to sneak in a few relevant conversations. Basically, it’s everything you’d expect from a Dharma film — glossy, colourful, and larger than life.

What really sets the film apart is its old-school feel. This movie has shades of the kind of Bollywood love stories we grew up watching — dramatic, colourful, and unapologetically filmy. It’s not just about boy-meets-girl; it’s about families, friendships, and the big, messy chaos of love.

The cast of Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari

Varun Dhawan is in his element as Sunny — dramatic, goofy, and genuinely funny without tipping into cringe territory. Janhvi Kapoor as Tulsi brings the right amount of innocence and mischief, balancing Varun’s energy perfectly. Rohit Saraf and Sanya Malhotra look great together and keep things believable, while Manish Paul adds those quick laughs in the background.

If you’re looking for serious cinema, this isn’t it. But if you want a stress-free, fun watch with family drama, big dance numbers, and plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari delivers.
