Okay, everybody, let’s all collectively exhale. Here’s an update we eagerly wanted: Vikrant Massey isn’t retiring from Bollywood. The man himself has cleared the air, and it’s not as dramatic as we thought. Vikrant Massey isn’t retiring from Bollywood; he’s just taking a much-deserved break.
Not a goodbye, just a ‘see you later’
In his post on Monday, Massey wrote, “The last few years and beyond have been phenomenal…But as I move forward, I realise it’s time to recalibrate and go back home. As a Husband, Father & a Son. And also as an Actor. So, coming 2025, we would meet each other for one last time. Until time deems right.” And all of us went into a frenzy thinking he was quitting Bollywood. And before we knew it, his comment section was flooded with “Goodbye Vikrant” comments. But thankfully, Vikrant Massey has set the record straight.
In an interview with News18, Massey clarified that his post had been misread by the public. He said, “I’m not retiring… Just burned out. Need a long break. Miss home and health is also acting up… People misread it.” He added, “I’m not quitting Bollywood. I’m just taking some time off.” And honestly, can we blame him? The guy’s been working non-stop, giving us stellar performances in films like Sector 36 and 12th Fail. If anyone’s earned a little downtime, it’s him.
Why the break?
Massey revealed that he wants to focus on improving his craft as he feels a “sense of monotony at the moment.”
To everyone who was ready to write emotional goodbyes: hold your horses. Vikrant isn’t going anywhere. He’s reassured fans that this is just a temporary pause. The actor’s statement read, “Acting is all I can do. And it has given me everything I have. My physical and mental health have taken a hit. I just want to take some time off, want to better my craft. I feel a sense of monotony at the moment. My post has been misinterpreted. That I am quitting or retiring from acting. I want to take some time off to focus on my family and health. I would be back when the time feels right.”
Honestly, this break could be the best thing for him – and for us. As Dia Mirza said in his support, “Breaks are best – you’ll be even more amazing on the other side.”
So, let’s chill, give him the space he needs, and look forward to the day when he’s back on our screens, doing what he does best – stealing the show with his quiet brilliance. Take your time, Vikrant. We’ll be right here, waiting.
