When Gulmohar, the house where the Batras live, is up for redevelopment, the family packs their bags. But before they leave, the entire family gets together for one last hurrah which brings to light a secret that was hidden deep. Over a span of four days, Kusum, Arun, Indu, and Aditya grapple with the consequences of the revelation.

Gulmohar is the comeback film of veteran actor Sharmila Tagore after over 10 years. It also stars Manoj Bajpayee, Simran, and Aditya.

The series dramatises the rise and fall of the Mughal dynasty through various generations of beauty and brutality.
