If you have seen the previous two movies in the series of To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, this one is going to be a treat. Following the story of Lara Jean and Peter Kavinsky, two high school teenagers, this movie is cheesy, cliche, corny, and sometimes, even predictable. But the good part is that it has that good old, sweet rom-com element but with a hint of a reality check. So, if you are planning to watch this movie, read this To All The Boys: Always and Forever review.
Love letters and cheesy date nights

The adorable high school couple kicks off the third installment with bright eyes full of love and hope. But this is their senior year so they must make their big choice: the college they want to attend. Because going to the same college is the only way to continue their romance and get the ultimate happily-ever-after that Lara Jean wants. But even though Peter gets accepted into their dream college Stanford, Lara Jean’s application is still pending. Cue the tension. And Lara Jean’s dream takes a left turn and slides out the window when she gets rejected from Stanford.
While all her future plans seem to have watered down, Lara Jean still has an alternative to be around her boyfriend. She can go to the school nearest to him i.e Berkeley and still manage a romance right out of a Jane Austen movie. And, in literal terms, there seemed to be quite a lot of Pride and Prejudice influence.
A trip to New York and Realityland

Of course, there is going to be a senior year trip in a romantic movie. But what sets it apart for LJ is the fact that she accidentally stumbles upon New York University’s college campus. And, wait for it, she falls in love with it. What a real bummer for her big plans and going to college with Peter! When does a romance ever last when you are 3,000 miles apart for four years? And that brings up the actual big choice: to choose between a relationship and a career.
Like all the classic rom-coms, Lara Jean must adjust and make new plans for herself. Because somehow, her heart belongs to NYU more than her bae Peter. But does that drive a wedge between them and shatter all her dreams? A long-distance relationship may not sound like the Jane Austen plot that LJ had initially planned.
Happily-ever-after but without unrealistic expectations

The plot won’t really keep you guessing about what is going to happen next, but will you stop watching? No. Because no matter how predictable or cliched it gets, LJ and PK keep you hooked to the screen. Their extremely sweet chemistry, calm personalities, and the will to stay together make you believe in a happily-ever-after. The last installment makes sure to end on a sweet note but doesn’t give up on real circumstances either. The couple’s maturity to manage through their highs and lows make the story a bit more realistic and believable. Even if they’re 3,000 miles apart for four years.
This movie is the perfect light-hearted rom-com that you should bookmark for Valentine’s Day. Just remember to get lots of pensive bake cookies to share with your bae to enjoy the movie better. And we totally vote yes to watching it even if you are single. In that case, have an ice cream tub and a best friend handy.
