Indian skin is unique, we know that. And what it absolutely doesn’t need is skincare products designed for European skin. What it does need is skincare brands for Indian skin and specific products meant to combat its problems. No, dark skin is not a problem. Indians are more exposed to the sunlight, pollution and dust. This exposure starts showing on our skin quite fast. And products made in Europe, the USA or Far East can’t fight these problems which are unique to our part of the world.

Thankfully, we now have plenty of homegrown beauty and skincare brands for Indian skin, with quality products, which don’t want to make us fair.

Here are 5 skincare and beauty companies, born in India, which you should know about.

Mama Earth was born when creators Ghazal and Varun were expecting their first child. When they started shopping for their child, they were shocked to find out that most baby products, be it lotion or shampoo, contained toxins which have proven to be harmful. This made them decide to create a brand for the parent, by the parent, with products that would be completely safe & certified toxin free.
