The real estate market in India went through major reforms in 2017. This will augur well for consumers in 2018 as the sector has been working towards becoming more transparent and organized owing to recent policy changes. Here’s why 2018 should be the year for you to enter the market.

1. Transparency Will Make Your Transactions Easier

According to Director of ATS Infrastructure, Bani G. Anand, the Real Estate Regulation Act (RERA) has made investing much easier for buyers. “All Indian states and Union Territories are now required to make their property records and registration process available online. This will ease the documentation process, which usually requires multiple visits to the government offices. Investors would also be able to keep track of their property without any hassle,” says Anand.

2. It’s A Buyer’s Market

Last year’s property sales were impacted by the effects of demonetization, that translated into a combination of excess supply and low consumption. Prices have become stable after a much-needed market correction. “Clearly, it’s a buyer’s market – but not for long. Prices are set to go up by mid-2018 as the demand picks up,” adds Anand.

3. Interest Rates On Home Loans Are Low

After massive inflow of cash spurred by demonetization in 2016, home loan interest rates have been on a gradual downward trajectory. The recent announcement of banking reforms will also help keep the interest rates low.

4. Affordable Housing Is Gaining Momentum

The affordable housing segment was one of the few silver linings in an otherwise dull market in 2017. This year too with the government’s thrust through incentives and several developers eyeing opportunities in this space, you will have more options to invest. ATS Infrastructure has also been developing and delivering projects in this segments in Bulandshahr, Moradabad and Bareilly.

5. Livability and quality of life are top priority for developers

Gone are the days when there wasn’t even sufficient parking for cars in new project areas. Irrespective of the price range, developers now understand that buyers don’t want to compromise on factors like livability and quality of life. “Apart from the basic facilities, today’s buyers expect comfort and ease of living when considering a purchase. At ATS, you will find amenities such as swimming pools, clubhouses, gyms and a significant green cover to make your living experience better,” says Anand.
