Abhimanyu, Rishu, aur Rani ki kahani
We all saw how, in Haseen Dillruba, Rishu (Vikrant Massey) and Rani (Taapsee Pannu) got rid of Neel (Harshvardhan Rane) by faking an accident and fleeing the city. The second part is set in Agra, where Rani and Rishu are leading separate lives away from the Uttar Pradesh Police.
They both keep a low profile as Inspector Kishore Rawat (Aditya Srivastava) unfolds the case of their first mystery inspired by writer Dinesh Pandit’s work. Still, they keep meeting each other, pretending to be strangers in public and never drawing any attention. The couple plans to flee Agra and settle in Thailand in a matter of two months.
Everything is going according to plan until Inspector Mrityunjay Prasad (Jimmy Shergill) sets foot in town. He is here to avenge the murder of his dear nephew Neel, and he will spare no one who comes in his way, which includes both Rishu and Rani.
To escape the heat of Mrityunjay, aka Monty Chacha, Rani decides to marry Abhimanyu (Sunny Kaushal). Unaware of her motives, Abhimanyu falls in love with her and agrees to marry her. But the marriage shatters when Rani tells him about her plans to escape the city with her ex-husband. The three then join hands to betray the police and run away. But will they betray each other instead? Or will Monty Chacha finally catch up with another Dinesh Pandit-inspired plan?
Not as spunky as the first one; the fine performances save the sequel
Haseen Dillruba stood its ground right from the start till the very end, giving us a cliff-hanging climax. Somehow, Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba takes a lot more time to build up, and the conclusion might seem predictable. The more appealing part of the movie is the cast that keeps you hooked till the end. Jimmy Shergill as Monty is a fresh and intriguing addition. He firmly holds your attention, being the actor he is. The rest of the cast includes Taapsee Pannu, Vikrant Massey, Sunny Kaushal, Aditya Srivastava, and Bhumika Dube, who deliver fine performances that add layers to this romantic thriller.
Can you watch it with your family?: Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba has scenes of kissing, nudity, and violence. So it is best to watch it by yourself.
That’s all for Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba’s review, which is streaming on Netflix.
