Set in pre-Independence India, Maharaj follows the story of a journalist, Karsandas Mulji, an advocate for women’s rights and social reform. He was also the defendant in the Maharaj Libel Case of 1862, one of the most significant legal battles of all time. The film marks the debut of Junaid Khan, Aamir Khan’s son. It also stars Jaideep Ahlawat, Shalini Pandey, and a special appearance by Sharvari.
