The first Monday of May marks the biggest night of fashion, aka the Met Gala. Derived from the 2025 spring exhibit, this year’s theme is “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”. The dress code for the evening is ‘Tailored For You’, highlighting the influence of dandyism over the last three centuries. Dandyism is a style that pays attention to sharp tailoring, grooming, extravagant accessories, and a bold colour palette. Here are the best looks by Indian celebrities at the Met Gala 2025.

1. Shah Rukh Khan

The world has been waiting to see King Khan’s debut on the Met steps, and waking up to his look was an absolute treat. Sure, Sabyasachi could have done a lot more with his look, but SRK’s charm was more than enough to have everyone going gaga. Wearing a floor-length coat along with an open buttoned silk shirt, black trousers, and stacked jewellery, Shah Rukh Khan’s Met Gala 2025 look was a nod to classic menswear.

2. Diljit Dosanjh

Diljit Dosanjh made sure he arrived at the Met with his ‘Punjabi aa gaye oye‘ attitude and ate it up. The maharaja look was not at all subtle. It was fully extravagant and embodied royalty and super fine tailoring. Taking inspiration from his Punjabi heritage, Diljit’s look was created by Prabal Gurung with an ivory and gold sherwani. It was paired with a custom cape, feathers for his turban, and a layered diamond set by Golecha’s Jewels.

3. Kiara Advani

After creating waves with her looks at the Cannes Film Festival last year, mama-to-be Kiara Advani lived up to the hype around her Met Gala debut. Wearing a custom Gaurav Gupta black gown and a gold breastplate with two hearts and an overflowing white cape, Kiara Advani is one of the best-dressed Indian celebrities at the Met Gala 2025.

4. Natasha Poonawalla

If there is one Indian celebrity at the Met Gala 2025 who has heads turning with her look, it has to be Natasha Poonawalla. The OG queen of fashion red carpets, Natasha channelled her Parsi heritage in a fishtail purple skirt made from gara sarees, a corset and a long black jacket to complete her over-the-top look for this year.

5. Isha Ambani

How can we talk about Indian celebrities at the Met Gala and not mention the iconic Isha Ambani? Embracing the theme of the night, Isha wore a custom Anamika Khanna creation that included a white corset, tailored black pants, and a white cape. And let’s not forget the stunning diamond jewellery that had jaws on the floor.

6. Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra showed up with Nick Jonas at the Met Gala in a custom Balmain outfit. The white skirt and blazer with polka dots paired with a huge Bvlgari Magnus emerald neckpiece was PC’s interpretation of ‘Tailored For You’.

7. Manish Malhotra

Indian designer Manish Malhotra walked the Met Gala red carpet in his own creation and looked really fine. He opted for a sherwani-style heavily embroidered cape with a matching velvet tie and a couple of diamond and emerald brooches to finish off his finely tailored look.

8. Mona Patel

Even though this is Mona Patel’s second Met Gala, the woman knows how to serve, eat, and leave no crumbs. Miss ma’am Mona Patel looks super fine in a custom suit along with a cape and corseted bodice from designer Thom Browne.
