Since the last episode aired in 2004, FRIENDS fans and others who got caught up in the frenzy, had been waiting for a reunion of some kind. For a long time, we had all expected a FRIENDS movie to show up on our screens. What we got instead was a long trip down memory lane with never-seen-before scenes and the stories behind some of the funniest episodes.

Now, in 2021, we can all acknowledge that the show had its flaws. There was casual sexism, traces of homophobia, lack of inclusivity, and the characters had some major problems which were brushed off as funny. I mean, Joey’s attitude towards women is nothing short of creepy and perverted.

Anyway, criticism of this show is for another time. Let’s talk about this much-awaited reunion. After all, this is the first time in 17 years that the cast got together on the sets of the show.

The show begins with glimpses of the last episode of FRIENDS, the one where everyone cried. And the seamless transition from 2004 to now is pretty cool. David Schwimmer is the first to show up and as he walks around the set, you realise that the whole set is just a small area that includes both apartments and the coffee shop as a permanent feature.

As the rest of the cast appears, it begins to look more like actual friends getting together in their old spot after years rather than the cast of an old TV show coming together.

Whether it’s all a show or genuine friendship, the sight of Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler and Ross coming together again is a heartwarming moment for fans of FRIENDS.

The cast recreated some memorable moments from the show like the quiz where Monica and Rachel lost their apartment to Chandler and Joey. But this time, the game has a few twists that the teams never saw coming. And yes, you will finally have an answer to what Chandler actually does for a living.
