If you thought influencers were done surprising us, think again. South Indian content creator Diya Krishna just vlogged her entire delivery, and it has gone viral. From labour pains to holding her baby, she recorded everything in the video. And the internet, like always, has thoughts. Some are clapping, others are cringing, but everyone is talking about it.
As a family content creator, Diya has never shied away from sharing the raw and real aspects of her life, but this time, she took it to a whole new level. In the vlog, Diya is talking mid-contraction, holding her husband Aswin Ganesh’s hand with visible nerves, and even giving a little smile to the camera right before pushing. In the video, which now has more than seven million views, she mentioned that she also packed makeup along with other necessary items.
“I packed my makeup set because I want to look trendy for my child. I don’t want to be seen as a mother with pimples. Not that pimples are bad ’cause I look good even with them, but it’s all for the extra confidence,” she said.

What’s the internet saying about Diya Krishna’s birthing video?
Diya Krishna maternity vlog is an excellent video. I had been searching for long time to understand how modern medicine handles childbirth. Unlike other family vlogs, this one includes treatment protocols which I was previously only familiar through reading or hearing about it.

Naturally, after watching a video that’s so vulnerable yet empowering, the internet couldn’t keep calm. Her fans are calling it brave and beautiful. “I cried with her this time ❤,” one comment reads. Others loved that she didn’t glamorise the process. No filters, no background music, just raw footage and honest emotion. Many women on the internet said they feel seen because of this video.

But not everyone’s on board. Critics have said it’s “too much”, “a superficial world they live in. Monetizing such a vulnerable moment”, and “the entire video is the experience of a very privileged woman, privileged in several different facets, be it wealth, influence, a supportive ecosystem etc etc.”
The bigger conversation
Beyond the buzz, Diya Krishna’s delivery video has sparked a much-needed conversation about childbirth visibility, bodily autonomy, and what we deem ‘appropriate’ for social media. What Diya did, whether you loved it or not, was to start a dialogue. She took control of her narrative, didn’t hand the camera to a news crew, and said, ‘This is my story, you’re welcome to watch.’
Was it too much? Maybe, maybe not. But here’s the thing: women are constantly told to hide their pain, to hush their power, to whisper their birth stories behind closed doors. But Diya Krishna said no, and that, in its own way, is kind of revolutionary.
