Everyone can use a cocktail fix now and then to get through the long week. And when your cup of coffee isn’t enough to do the trick, you need a good, well-made cocktail. But that doesn’t mean you have to stick to your basic martini. While you might just be picking up the first thing you find in your bar, it’s time to get a little creative. So this week, try a cocktail based on your zodiac sign! Here is the perfect cocktail recipe for you.

1. Aries: Absinthe Frappé

Ingredients:

50 ml absinthe

5-10 mint leaves

1 egg white

15 ml simple syrup

50 ml club soda

Method:

Put mint in a cocktail shaker and muddle it lightly. Then add absinthe, simple syrup, egg white, and ice, and give it a good shake. Take a tall glass and fill it with crushed ice, and strain the drink into it. The perfect cocktail recipe for you, Aries — easy, cool, and delicious.

2. Taurus: Champagne Float

Ingredients:

2 tbsp fruit sorbet (peach, raspberry, or watermelon)

150 ml chilled champagne, prosecco, or any sparkling wine

Method:

Grab a champagne flute (gently!) and add the sorbet to it. Pour the chilled wine over it, and enjoy your champagne float!

3. Gemini: Strawberry Gin Spritz

Ingredients:

60ml gin

1/2 cup strawberries, rinsed and sliced

Juice of one lemon or lime

1 tbsp sugar

100 ml sparkling wine

A dash of club soda

Method:

Add strawberries, lemon juice, and sugar in a small bowl, and mix well. Keep it aside and let it sit for about 15 minutes. Take 2 glasses, fill them halfway with ice, and pour 30 ml gin in both. Next, add the strawberry mixture equally, sparkling wine, and a dash of club soda. Give the drinks a good mix and enjoy chilled!

4. Cancer: Fresh Fruit Sangria

Ingredients:

1/2 medium apple chopped into small pieces

1 medium orange rind on, pitted, and sliced into small pieces

3-4 tbsp brown sugar

3/4 cup chilled orange juice

1/3 cup brandy

750 ml red wine

1 cup ice 

Method:

Take a pitcher, put apples, oranges, and sugar in it, and muddle the fruits for about a minute. Try using cold fruits. Once the juices are released, add orange juice and brandy to the mixture, and muddle again for about 30 seconds. Add the red wine, stir again, and adjust the flavours according to your taste. Once it’s done, add ice to the pitcher, give it a final stir, and enjoy your fresh fruit sangria.

5. Leo: Cranberry Daiquiri

Ingredients:

1/4 cup sugar

750 ml light rum

1/4 cup water

1 and 1/2 cups cranberry juice

3/4 cup water

Lime slices, frozen cranberries, and fresh mint for garnish

Sugar

A handful of mint leaves

Method:

Take a saucepan and add 1/4th cup sugar, 1/4th cup water, and mint to it, and let it simmer till the sugar dissolves and the mixture starts to thicken. Then mix rum, juice, water, and simple syrup in a pitcher and refrigerate it for at least an hour before serving. Once it’s chilled, assemble your glasses and dip the rims in water and then sugar. Pour the drink into the glasses, staying away from the rim. Top it off with frozen berries, lime slices, and fresh mint. Enjoy!

6. Virgo: Elderflower Champagne Cocktail

Ingredients:

60 ml elderflower liqueur

120 ml chilled champagne, prosecco, or sparkling wine

A handful of fresh mint leaves

Method:

Combine elderflower liqueur and mint in a cocktail shaker. Muddle the mint lightly, add crushed ice to fill the shaker halfway, and give it a good shake for about 30 seconds. 1 (750 ml) bottle chilled dry sparkling wine

3 cups chilled orange juice (freshly squeezed or store-bought)

1/2 cup orange liqueur, optional

2-3 strawberries, blueberries, and orange slices

Method:

Take a champagne flute and add the berries. Lightly muddle them with a spoon to release some juices. Add the chilled wine and top it up with fresh, chilled orange juice. And finally, add a spoon of orange liqueur and garnish it with some orange slices. Enjoy a delicious and easy cocktail!

8. Scorpio: Classic Margarita

Ingredients:

2 lime wedges, for rimming glasses and garnish

1/4 cup kosher salt or castor sugar, for rimming glasses

120 ml tequila

60 ml triple sec

50 ml freshly squeezed lime juice

Ice

Method:

Start by placing a cocktail glass in the refrigerator for about 5 minutes. Take a cocktail shaker or a jar with a tight lid and add the tequila, triple sec, ice, and lime juice to it, and shake it vigorously for about 30 seconds. Now, take the chilled cocktail glass and wet the rim with lime juice and dip it in sugar/salt. Then, strain the margarita into the glass and garnish with lime wedges.

9. Sagittarius: Cucumber Gin & Tonic

1/2 cup of water

1/2 cup granulated sugar

Simple syrup

Method:

Start by making the simple syrup by mixing water and sugar over a medium flame till the sugar dissolves completely and the mixture starts to thicken. Once it is prepared, set it aside to cool. Take the prepared glass, add ice, strain fresh mezcalita, garnish with a lemon wedge, and sip away your work blues!

11. Aquarius: Paloma

60 ml tequila

15 ml lime juice

60 ml fresh grapefruit juiceplus wedges for garnish

15 ml simple syrupor to taste

60 ml sparkling water

Coarse sea saltfor the rim of the glasses

Ice

Method:

Begin with salting the rim of the glass by rubbing a grapefruit wedge around and dipping it onto a small plate of salt. Mix the tequila, grapefruit juice, sparkling water, lime juice, and simple syrup into the glass, and fill the rest with ice. Next, adjust sweetness to taste and garnish with a grapefruit wedge. 15 ml triple sec
