Actor Chhavi Mittal’s Inspiring Breast Cancer Journey: Smiling Through The Worst
If you’ve been following showbiz news lately, you would know that popular TV and film actor Chhavi Mittal was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Through social media, the actor revealed that she was diagnosed with second-stage breast cancer in the first week of April. But, as is evident in her Instagram posts, this diagnosis didn’t deter her spirit.
From preparing for the battle ahead of her to going through painful surgery, Chhavi has been documenting her breast cancer journey on Instagram. And this has won the hearts of all her fans and loved ones.
The mother of two kids, Areza and Arham, Chhavi shared a sweet video of her family a day before the surgery. After that, she shared a fun video of her dancing in her hospital room prepping and getting those nerves in control.
“Doc said, Chhavi…. You need to chill! So I’m chilling 💁🏼 #preppingforsurgery”, she captioned her video. And the best part was her husband, Mohit, joining in and throwing some moves for her ‘gram! Now, that’s what we call facing the ups and downs in a relationship together.

Once the actor was out of surgery, she shared another happy picture of herself with a long note describing how it went. “The surgery lasted for 6 hours, there were multiple procedures done, and it’s a long road to recovery, but the great thing is.. it’s only going to get better now. The worst is over.” She also penned a note of gratitude for her fans and her supportive husband who’ve been praying for her throughout.
Chhavi’s journey so far has been a source of motivation for people who are struggling through a similar illness. It can be quite overwhelming and scary, but having a positive mindset can help make it slightly more bearable. Chhavi also mentions, in another note, how cancer is not something anybody is happy about getting, but it should also not be a reason to stop living your life. Instead, it should give you all the more reason to enjoy the smallest of things and live your life to the fullest. Chhavi’s breast cancer journey is an effort toward normalising talking about the different stages of cancer diagnosis and recovery so that people don’t feel isolated during this difficult time.
In one of her latest Instagram posts, Chhavi says she managed to get a hair wash and blowdry done at the hospital salon on doctor’s orders. And not just that, she also shared a picture with her best friend after an evening walk post-surgery.
“Am I low? No. Am I up for this challenge? Hell yes!
Jo hai dekhenge, aur kucch accha hi karenge! As for baby steps, I’ll get my nails done this week!”, Chhavi writes in her post.
