Fashion is where Aunty Eve is, so it’s obvious that I have been at Cannes for the past two weeks. And as I told you last week, my stay at Cannes has been super busy! From helping Deepika say all the right things to holding Aaradhya’s hand while Aishwarya partied, I was the backbone of the Indian contingent, bachche. Sounds very Olympics-type na? Hehehe.
Anyway, since I’ve been back, these people have been after me to finally declare the best of the best Cannes looks this year. After all, mine is the only opinion that matters in this field. So, here is Aunty Eve’s pick of the best looks from Cannes 2022.
Deepika’s wonderful Sabya outfit
She looks so mehendi-ready, no? Imagine me wearing this at the next Chhattarpur wedding. Epic fashion! Also, this combination of a lakhon ki shirt and a necklace that could buy at least two houses is just perfect.
Aishwarya Rai’s groundbreaking florals
Forget receiving flowers, the new trend is to walk around with your own giant bouquet sewn into your outfit. And it is only our very own phoolon si Aish who can make “florals for spring” groundbreaking again.
Aishwarya’s practical and futuristic approach
Listen, Aish features on this list twice for her practical fashion choices. And no one loves practicality more than your dear Aunty Eve. Look at this! All these celebrities have such long, tiring days at Cannes, and sometimes, they just need a few minutes to put their head down and rest. Cannes-veteran Aishwarya did just that when the film she was watching got terribly boring. She learnt from her past adventures here and made her own arrangements. It’s better to have a pillow as part of your outfit than to drool on Tom Cruise’s shoulder again and again.
Hina’s sizzling hot black ensemble
Oh, Hina looked so hot during the whole festival. And this little number reminded me of my honeymoon, you know. Yes, of course, I looked much hotter. Why is that even a question, bachche? But this was definitely one of the best Cannes looks this year.
Urvashi Rautela’s fluffy, angelic gown
Urvashi is best at everything. So obviously, at least one of her looks had to be featured here. No no, she didn’t say anything to me to make me write this. Not at all. This is a very pretty dress, bachche. Haina? HAINA?
Anne Hathaway’s Queen of Genovia look
Yes, yes. We all loved Anne’s look at Cannes and thought she actually looked like a queen. She looked divine, magical, regal, and everything. But it is that solid blue diamond that caught Aunty Eve’s eye immediately. I love bling, you know that. After all, I am from south Delhi. Hehehe. Look at that beautiful rock, bachche. And now imagine it around my neck. Uff. I might pass out. Queen of Delhi, anyone?
Helly Shah’s cuteness!
This dear bachcha landed up in Cannes without telling me anything. Such a nice surprise it was to see Helly being all confident and glamorous in that crowd. I loved all her looks, beta. So fresh! But this one was my absolute favourite. Mostly because this was my idea.
Julia Roberts and that shiny, shiny stone
If you thought this list would be complete without my dear friend Julia in it, you’re living under a rock, bachche. And now you need to crawl out from under there. Because that yellow diamond won’t land up in my jewellery box on its own. Come on. Get on it. You owe your Aunty Eve at least one diamond, it can be either blue or yellow.
Now that Aunty Eve is back from Cannes and ready to be of service to you again, tell me. What do you want me to talk about next week?
