In the age of the Internet, not a week goes by when something new doesn’t go viral. This is why the bar for what deserves to go viral has gone higher. 2019 saw some hilarious meme trends but even more importantly, there were many things that were unintentionally hilarious and made for better content than what we find on Netflix. To relive the year in all things viral, here is the best of 2019:
1. The tiny bag meme

The incredibly functional bag that I can use to store all my money, self-esteem, and friends made me realise how fashion is an art that imitates life.
2. Tik Tok

2019 is the year Tik Tok beat Bollywood at its own game with this thrilling tale. It’s an incredibly poignant motif of… boys spitting out water from their mouths in slow motion.
3. Sandeep Vanga saying slaps = love
Then Sandeep Vanga gave an interview to @anupamachopra @FilmCompanion where he explains his ideas about loves such as: “[W]hen you’re deeply in love … if you don’t have the liberty of slapping each other, then I don’t see anything there.” (Quote trimmed) https://t.co/QDCLOMkeFm
— Aparita (@aparita) July 6, 2019
Sandeep Vanga was jealous of the “how can she slap” clip, so he gave us a “we must all slap” clip. Since then, there are many reports of pheras or vows in weddings being replaced with slaps, the truest expression of love.
4. Sonakshi Sinha’s Alia Bhatt moment on Kaun Banega Crorepati
#SonakshiSinha‘s family members:-
Shatrughan (Dad)
Ram(Uncle/Tau)
Lakshman(Uncle/Tau)
Bharat(Uncle/Tau)

I don’t agree with people trolling Sonakshi Sinha for thinking Hanuman got the sanjeevani booti for Ram. This isn’t justified like when Bheem laughed at Dronacharya for walking into a wall in the Pandavas’ house.
5. Nick Jonas’ Karwa Chauth post for Priyanka Chopra
Future generations will not remember us kindly for ignoring Nick Jonas’ coded cry for help in this extremely naturally worded and sincere post. It said “as you can see we have fun together” probably because he was worried that the picture wouldn’t be convincing enough.
6. The best Pakistani cricket fan in the world
This Pakistani cricket fan gave us material that can be turned into literally any meme. But I will always be grateful to him for describing my Saturday nights with his “kal raat yeh burger khaate rahe” rant.
7. The wise paraglider video

This wise philosopher perfectly summed up how we all feel about being in this world. Truly, one of the best of 2019.
8. Arnab Goswami talking about PRINTING things

— José Covaco (@HoeZaay) December 4, 2019
You know those articles that repeatedly mention the name of a sponsor for SEO? Arnab decided to test that for TV using the word “print.”
9. Nirmala Sitharaman’s unforgettable lessons in economics
Wedding planners are out of work as millennials prefer live ins..😅#BoycottMillennials
— Saira Shah Halim سائرہ 🇮🇳 (@sairashahhalim) September 11, 2019
Nirmala tai gave us amazing lessons in logic and economics by telling us that millennials using Ola and Uber was causing automobile sales to drop. She also casually mentioned that one doesn’t have to care about onion prices if one doesn’t eat them. I cannot come up with a joke about this because millennials being serious about issues is causing jokes to not exist anymore.
10. 20 shows of Avengers: Endgame per day

As Nirmala tai would say, Thugs of Hindostan and Zero flopped because millennials prefer to watch Hollywood films like Avengers: Endgame. They give so much bhaav to Hollywood over Bollywood that some theatres had to carry 20 shows a day starting from 3 am!
