Sometimes, bachche, my work feels very difficult. Men have become so smart these days that they hide their absolute disdain for women in new, innovative ways. And it can be hard to spot. But these days, life feels easy again. Because among all the cunning chhoras, there are pure men like Ram Kapoor, who make no effort to hide their misogyny and general chhichhorapan. Ram Kapoor and controversy seem to be going hand-in-hand since last year, which is great for women. Because every time he opens his mouth, he gives women one more red flag to watch out for in men.

Pataa hai galat hai, but theek nahi karna

Self-awareness doesn’t count for anything if you’re still going to behave the same way. A year ago, Ram Kapoor made the most inappropriate, sexual comments during promotions for his show Mistry. According to his childlike brain, rape jokes are funny. Work, apparently, feels like sexual assault to him. Also, a colleague’s tight dress is far too distracting for a fully grown, adult man.

His apology was the kind you expect from a man who will never try to be better. “I’m like that only” is a ridiculous excuse for making rape jokes. But one does expect that he won’t try the same stunt again, at least not in public. However, in 2026, on Lock Upp, he once again said he felt like he was “being gangraped by elephants”. I’m sure he expected loud hahas and hoots, but what he got was a verbal slap from a delightful young woman. I like her.

Apart from the very obvious red flag of joking about sexual assault, Ram Kapoor has also been owning his entire personality. Kuchh cheezein chhupi hi theek hoti hain, but he obviously doesn’t believe that.

Ladies, Ram Kapoor is showing you shaadi ke red flags

But are you paying attention? I don’t think so. Because we still love glorifying a woman’s unappreciated, unpaid work. Both men and women will instantly get dewy-eyed when talking about how much their mother has sacrificed for them and their family. Not one person will be angry that she had to make those sacrifices in the first place. Ram Kapoor also chooses to glorify everything his wife has done for him. He says that he owes his professional success to her. Says all the right things. Very SEO-friendly. Great. What has he done for her though? What has any papa done for the overworked mummy of the house? Apart from giving gyaan and sending wife jokes on WhatsApp.

“She used to cook for me when I came back at 2 am from work”

Thak ke aadmi kaam se aaye aur usko roti bhi na miley? Haw. Kabhi kisi aurat ne poochha hai yeh apne pati se for herself? Woh thakti nahi hai? A woman who was more successful than her husband put her career on hold and cooked fresh meals for him at 2 am. But his grouse (hidden in a bad joke) is ki doosre bachche ke baad nahi karti thi. Poor 52-year-old child felt so ignored in his own home.

It’s 2026 (do hazaar chhabees), but humein ab bhi auraton ke back-breaking kaam ko glorify karna hai. Help nahi karna, khud apna kaam nahi karna, but glorification karwa lo because that doesn’t take any effort. All my bachchas listening to this, don’t ever dim yourself for a man if he can’t do the same for you. Mazaak banke reh jaoge.

“My wife is Mother India”

“My children didn’t know me for the first 10 years of their life; my father did the same thing. I didn’t have to worry about my kids.” Papa ne kiya tha toh theek hi hoga, haina? I’m sure you wonder, bachche, would Ram Kapoor and Gautami’s relationship have been just as happy-go-lucky if the roles were reversed and Ram stayed home with the kids? No, because the roles were reversed at the beginning of their marriage. When he had no work, and Gautami was doing TV shows, she said that Ram was anxious, “at home doing nothing”. But once they had their first child and he started working, balance was restored. Their relationship literally suffered when the roles were reversed, and I’m pretty sure he didn’t cook for her if she got home at 2 am.

“If you really love your partner, nothing is a dealbreaker”

Ram Kapoor recently said this in Lock Upp. Isse kehte hain pro-level gaslighting. This was said during a discussion on cheating in relationships. And this is basically what you expect a self-centred man to say when you catch him red-handed and tell him it’s over. If you leave him, you don’t love him. If you stay with him, you must hide your resentment because uski feelings hurt ho jayengi. Basically, if cheating is a dealbreaker for you, pyaar kabhi tha hi nahi, and that’s why he cheated. Uski galti tumhari galti hai.

Ek baat toh hai. Ram Kapoor has taken it upon himself to show us the truth about marriage and raja betas. Remember the theory that men mature at the age of 43? This man has decided to disprove this theory actively, in public, taaki kisi aurat ko doubt na rahe. Because, as confirmed on the show, he is “52 and still learning”.
