Beta ji, being the other woman in a man’s life is a tricky situation. Aapko lagta hai that you’ve found the one, he’s just stuck with the wrong person right now, and you’re the angel who will rescue him. Aur usko lagta hai that he has finally found an escape from his mundane life. That is all. At least in most cases. It can happen that you find yourself in an emotional relationship with a man who is committed to someone else. Sometimes, women are tricked into these “relationships” and sometimes, they go into them knowingly for reasons that are beyond my comprehension but I won’t judge. But I will say that you should end the relationship for your own sake, bachche. Here’s why.

He runs away from problems rather than confront them

His current relationship is obviously a problem for him. That’s why he’s out and about in the world looking for new prospects. However, not ending a relationship before starting a new one means he’s terrible at problem-solving. He would rather lie and sneak around than work on fixing a relationship. Is that really what you want in a partner, bachche?

He only thinks of his happiness

If he’s okay with two simultaneous relationships, he’s not really considering anyone else’s emotions. What if his wife or girlfriend finds out about you? How will she feel? That’s not your problem, but it definitely should be his. And if he doesn’t seem to care about her, what’s the guarantee that he’ll care about you?

It should be a blow to your self-esteem

Being the “other woman” means you’re hidden. His dirty little secret. Are you okay with being the side character in your partner’s life? Main toh na hoti. This should affect your pride, your self-respect. And you should pay more attention to that sickening feeling in your tummy that’s telling you dal mein kuchh kaala hai.

Do you really want to live with the fear of karma?

If there’s one superstition I believe in, it’s karma, bachche. I shouldn’t even call it a superstition at this point because I’ve seen it play out so many times. Ghoom ke aapke karam aapko hi chubhte hain unfortunately. I don’t think you should live with the fear of him leaving you for someone else. So, you leave him first.

You’ll lose face in front of the girls who matter to you

This is the absolute worst thing to happen. Your friends will not be happy about this and may even distance themselves from you. They will see themselves in his wife or girlfriend and lose their trust in you. Do you want to lose them over a man? Really? If yes, either they’re not very good friends or you still don’t know what matters most in life. Hint: sisters before misters.

Beta ji, your life is yours to live toh main kya hi bolun if this is the kind of man you want to be with. Jisko relationships ki koi kadar hi nahi hai. I will just say that for your own sake, take a break from him and see if he makes any significant moves in that time. If not, you’re better off without him.
