We all feel a certain way about Zohran Mamdani, even though he’s an Amreeki politician with zero impact on our lives. Jahaan desi naam dikha in a foreign setting, we are quick to lay claim. Indian origin hai toh hamaara hi hai, just on loan to the Americans, haina? I also have a lot to say about Zohran Mamdani but I want to focus more on his upbringing by the legendary filmmaker Mira Nair. As a true Indian aunty, I give full credit for Zohran to his mummy because everything he does shows that a woman shaped him. Mira ji, hats off to you for showing the world how important it is for boys to be raised by strong women.

Here’s why it is so obvious that Zohran Mamdani was raised by a woman who doesn’t bow down to society.

He’s fighting to become the mayor of New York City but Zohran takes on politicians on an international level too. He hasn’t taken the easy path to victory. Not yet at least. Zohran has made his opinions about several politicians exceedingly clear and doesn’t mince words when he doesn’t agree with them. I like that about young people. Makes me feel that the world is in good hands for the future. Because the current hands are just playing Chidiya Udd with the planet.

What is a desi munda without Bollywood in his blood? Zohran Mamdani has stayed true to his roots and made Hindi cinema a part of his campaign. Zohran doesn’t shy away from who he is just to win an election. In fact, Mira Nair’s son has made sure he uses his love for Bollywood in a positive way which I’m sure has made him more likeable amongst the non-desis too. After all, who doesn’t love some good entertainment in an election campaign?

Zohran doesn’t treat his wife as a possession

He treats her like an equal. This is such a huge lesson for desi boys and a great example of why boys should be raised by strong women. A man’s upbringing shows in how he treats women and Mira Nair’s son is excelling so far. Look at his pictures with his wife Rama Duwaji. He doesn’t try to stop her from taking the spotlight. She’s glam and owns it while her husband happily stands behind her. And just look at how Zohran talks about Rama.

Yes, yes, I know politics also involves sho-sha and acting but at least he’s acting right. At least he’s not hating on people just because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Aaram se baat karta hai, hassi khushi. Zohran beta is not promoting hate and just for that, he has my vote. Even though I vote in GK1.

Any boy who loves his mama will always have Aunty Eve’s approval. Don’t get me wrong now. Zohran is not a mama’s boy, he’s a loving son. And that has happened because…you guessed it…he was raised by a strong woman, not an insecure one. Mira Nair seems to have made sure her son turns out to be a good human being, not a retirement plan for her and her husband.

Zohran Mamdani is an Aunty Eve-certified good boy and desi boys need to learn from this beeba munda.
