With all the celebrity weddings in 2018, and the grand venues that came with them, palace weddings have become the new trend. If you want a grand wedding and have the money for it, nothing else comes close to the magnificence of a palace. But planning a palace wedding is not easy. We spoke to renowned wedding designers and planners at DreamzKraft on what it takes to plan a palace wedding. The team also shared their inputs on the upcoming wedding decor trends of 2019.

Unlike other venues, palaces need extra care during the planning and execution stage. We asked DreamzKraft what they think couples should keep in mind before planning an extravagant palace wedding.

“Palaces are heritage properties and need extra care to maintain them,” DreamzKraft says. “Not enough can be stressed on the importance of being extremely careful while working at heritage sites. It’s best to avoid creating a palace-themed decor and to retain the location’s exotic charm and rich tradition.”

Designing palace weddings

Talking about the palace weddings they have designed, DreamzKraft emphasised on the need to adapt to the palace. “The decor and design needs to complement the existing structure and accentuate the feel of the palace,” the team says. “A focus on lighting can prove to be a game changer as it enhances the beauty of the property and, in turn, the beauty of your wedding.”

At one of their recent weddings, the DreamzKraft team “used no structures and worked with minimal frameworks for the extravagant floral arrangements. The wedding was spread across Fairmont, Le Meridien, and the Jaigarh Fort in Jaipur with a resplendent reception.”

Palace wedding are much more expensive than other weddings

As one would imagine, palace weddings are quite heavy on the pocket. And many people tend to forget that part when they get inspired by a celebrity wedding.

“Make sure you plan your budget to spend a little more for every aspect that goes into the wedding, like the per room or per plate cost,” the DreamzKraft team tells us. “All the vendors need to spend extra to be careful with the palace. The cost of this is usually passed on to the client.”

Apart from the high costs, palace wedding can pose other challenges as well.

“These properties usually have a smaller room inventory,” the team says. “Couples need to find hotels nearby as bigger groups of guests will need to be split.”

Wedding decor trends of 2019

We also asked DreamzKraft about the wedding decor trends that they see emerging for 2019.

“The coming wedding decor trends are all about adaptability,” the team at DreamzKraft tells us. “Couples are making their own rules and shifting away from distinct wedding themes But a few themes like large focal centerpieces, unique color blocks, lighting, taper candles, pampas grass, rattan accents, utilitarian signage, organic floral creations, translucent details, and luxe fabrics are expected to be in trend this wedding season. Even bringing the interiors outdoors and making the most of the available technology will be seen dominating weddings in 2019.”
