Vulgarity to virality
Urfi Javed wanted more, so she branched out to Uorfi Javed with her new reality show, Follow Kar Lo Yaar. What initially came out as vulgar is now going viral. The show seems like an Indian version of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, where you’ll see an unfiltered Uorfi with her family and work team.
The first episode reveals how even she is tired of her atrangi dress sense, so she wants to be an entrepreneur. There are only two things she wants from life— money and respect— the two things she was deprived of as a kid.
She states in the first episode how she is only “doing it for virality, doing it for the shock factor, doing it for the views”. The following episodes reveal her dysfunctional family through her mother, three sisters and a brother. The show is entirely based on someone who isn’t aware of her existence. Uorfi wants to be known and talked about like people speak of Shah Rukh Khan. Follow Kar Lo Yaar is her attempt in that direction and to tap into the industry.
One of the episodes also features Munawar Faruqui, an Indian comedian and Big Boss Season 17’s winner. Their conversation revolves around how she can achieve massive success. To her disappointment, Munawar revealed hard work as the secret ingredient to success. But Uorfi honestly says she isn’t up for that. She only aspires to be filthy rich even if she has to sell her husband just like Sridevi from the movie Judaai.
No one tells Uorfi what to do
Not even her sisters, as she wants to make her life decisions by herself. The show outlines her inherent nature, which reveals that if there’s anyone she would listen to, it would be herself. Her confidence then becomes an inspiration for the people around her. However, her team and family often find themselves at odds with her. Uorfi Javed might be pulling off the strangest looks but carries deep-seated insecurity. She fears ageing and turns to Botox, fillers, and other surgeries in a minute.
The show is an easy watch with nine episodes of 30 minutes each. If you love an on-screen (family) drama, the series is exactly what you should watch. Follow Kar Lo Yaar is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
Can you watch Follow Kar Lo Yaar with your family?: The reality show is filled with unscripted dialogues and inappropriate language. Your parents might not be in for such entertainment and might switch off the TV for you too.
