1. Stuff your boots

Over-the-knee boots can be sexy as hell but can also be a pain when it comes to storing them. Stuffing them directly in a drawer or box can make them lose shape and get them all crinkled. Store them in a standing position by stuffing newspapers, magazines, old plastic bottles, or even your empty wine bottles. This way, they’ll be as good as new every winter.

2. Use clip hangers

Clip hangers or pant hangers are literally lifesavers when it comes to storing boots. You can hang your taller boots with clip hangers to keep them off the floor. This will allow you to utilise the closet floor for other footwear and flats.

3. Use dust or cloth bags to store shoes

In order to protect your shoes and keep them clean, use dust bags, plastic, or cotton bags to store them. Make sure you wipe and clean them before putting them in bags so the dirt or mud doesn’t end up ruining your shoes.

4. Store your shoes in boxes

Shoes and sneakers that are chunky but not tall can be easily stored and stacked in boxes. You can either use the original boxes or get transparent small boxes to store your shoes. This way, you can stack one over the other without creating clutter. And using transparent boxes will allow you to quickly take a look before picking out your footwear instead of opening all the boxes.

5. Use storage baskets for shorter boots

Keeping your shoes in a neat place can increase their life since they will be tidy and won’t need repairing. But if it feels like your boots are all over the closet floor, you can get some storage baskets. This way, you can store multiple pieces together in a basket. Now, isn’t that a great tip to store winter boots and tidy up your space?

6. Hang them on coat racks

If you don’t have a lot of pairs of shoes and boots and don’t want to create a separate closet for boots, try coat racks. They are easy to keep on the side and can easily hold 3-4 pairs at a time depending on how many hooks the rack has. This is an easy solution for when you don’t want to create a whole shoe closet.

7. Floating bookshelves

Floating bookshelves are a great solution to keep your space tidy and organised. You can simply stack the shoes and boots on floating bookshelves and save yourself a lot of floor space. Remember to place a rubber mat on the floor or the shelf itself so you can wipe off any dirt or mud before putting them in place.
