Recently, love birds Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal tied the knot after being together for seven years. The couple had a civil marriage ceremony and threw intimate wedding functions with only close friends and family in attendance. But what really left us in awe were Sonakshi’s wedding looks. The off-white repurposed chikankari saree

For her wedding, Sonakshi wore a stunning off-white chikankari saree with her beau Zaheer wearing a matching ivory chikankari kurta. She accessorised her outfit with Kundan and gold jewellery, a sleek bun, and gajra to finish the look. The bride repurposed her mother Poonam Sinha’s saree, which is 44 years old, and the jewellery was from her mother’s closet as well. Oh, how we love a minimal bride who is all about repurposing heirloom pieces!

Over the years, we’ve seen Bollywood brides opting for romantic pastel shades for their wedding festivities. So, seeing Sonakshi in a ravishing red saree was a sight to behold. The bride’s red ‘Chand Buta‘ Varanasi silk brocade saree is from Raw Mango’s textile archives from the late 18th century, costing ₹79,800. Sonakshi styled her look with custom-made jewellery from Karan Johar’s brand Tyaani to compliment her regal look. She kept her sleek bun and gajra intact and added some alta and bangles to finish her reception look.

Sonakshi Sinha’s wedding looks didn’t just impress us; fashion commentators Sufi Motiwala and Diet Sabya were also all hearts for the bride. They added their stamp of approval on Sona’s minimal and sublime outfits which is a nod to the brides-to-be who want to stay fuss-free for their festivities.
