Who wrote the Sajni Re song lyrics?

When the music producer for the film, Ram Sampath, pitched the music for ‘Sajni Re‘ to the makers, everybody was instantly impressed, and why not? The song really brought out the innocence of Phool Kumari and Deepak’s tender romance. But here’s the twist, this heart-winning song had no lyrics because it wasn’t a part of the original script.
Ram Sampath usually produces his songs by crowdsourcing the lyrics, and that’s exactly what he did with ‘Sajni Re‘. When he asked people to send lyrics for the music, a banker from Delhi, Prashant Panndey, came into the picture. He sent the lyrics that we all love now. And that’s how everybody’s favourite ‘Sajni Re‘ song came to life.
Initially, Sampath also planned to lend his voice to the song, but after he recorded a version of it, he changed his mind. He decided that the song needed the magical touch of Arijit Singh’s voice, and Sampath wasn’t wrong. Arijit’s melodious voice made the song sound ever sweeter and soothing.
So, the next time you’re humming the ‘Sajni Re‘ song, remember how these beautiful lyrics were actually written.
