RD Burman hits

If there’s one musical genius who will always hold a great deal of significance in Indian musical history, it is RD Burman. Born to Bollywood’s well-known singer-lyricist couple Sachin Dev Burman and Meera Dev Burman, Rahul Dev Burman went on to become one of the most influential musicians for more than three decades. Lovingly known as Pancham Da, RD Burman remains the king of his craft even now. Between the 1960s and the 1990s, he composed musical scores for 331 films, many of which were with his wife Asha Bhonsle, sister-in-law Lata Mangeshkar, and the legendary Kishore Kumar. RD Burman’s death on January 4, 1994, came as a huge shock for the Indian entertainment industry. On his 27th death anniversary, we take a look at some of the greatest RD Burman hits that rule the charts even today.

RD Burman’s contribution to the Hindi film industry cannot be compiled in a small list. His musical prowess is something that will continue to inspire generations of the Indian music industry for years to come.
