Beauty standards have always been hypocritical, and more so in India. If you’re not fair enough, tall enough, or don’t have beautiful, dense hair, society will make you feel like there’s something wrong with you. Because that’s what makes you beautiful, right? But we are not taking people’s bullsh*t in 2025. Recently, Neehar Sachdeva, an influencer with alopecia, became a shining example of embracing yourself and setting your own beauty standards. And mind you, they are sky-high. Here’s The Bald Brown Bride, who walked down the aisle without a wig and clapped back at the hypocrisy of our society.
Ditched the wigs, opted for her beautiful self
Neehar Sachdeva is a US-based Indian influencer who has had alopecia since her childhood. Alopecia is a condition where one faces partial or complete hair loss leading to baldness. Neehar has never shied away from talking about her condition, even though her parents kept it under wraps for years and made her wear wigs to school, college, and other events. But when she tied the knot, the bride opted to ditch the wigs and embrace her beautiful self. Neehar wore a stunning red lehenga, and her maang tikka became the main character of her look.
Neehar opted for mint green jewellery to complement her bridal look and nude glam makeup to bring out her beautiful features. She wore a beautiful red veil along with her dupatta to add a traditional aspect to her classic red lehenga look.
Neehar has broken the internet with her stunning looks, and people love her for flaunting her baldness. It is high time we normalise brides being brides and stop making a fuss about how they should look, what they should wear, and how they should act.
