But let’s be real, getting that perfect batter and baked texture is not as easy as it sounds and may be quite time consuming for some of us. Keeping this in mind, we put together some great mug cake recipes which will satiate your sweet tooth without much effort.
I mean, what can be better and easier than a cake that you can whip up within minutes?
1. Cookies & Cream Oreo Mug Cake
The Oreo cookie is an all-time favourite for people of all ages. Imagine the deliciousness it can create by lending its unique flavour to a simple mug cake.

Ingredients:
4 tbsp maida
1/4 tsp baking powder
1 and 1/2 tbsp powdered sugar
1 tbsp vegetable oil
3 tbsp milk
1/4 tsp vanilla essence
A pinch of salt
2-3 Oreos (crushed)
Whipped cream or ice cream (optional)
Method:
Mix the maida and baking powder together in a mug. Add the sugar, oil, milk, vanilla essence and salt, and mix well. Next up, add the crushed Oreos and give the batter another mix. Microwave the mug for a minute and voila! You’ve got a delicious cake that you can top with some whipped cream or ice cream for extra sweetness and flavour.

Ingredients:
4 tbsp maida
1/2 tbsp cocoa powder (unsweetened)
2 tbsp granulated sugar
1/4 tsp baking powder
A tiny pinch of salt
3 tbsp buttermilk (or yogurt)
1 and 1/2 tbsp vegetable oil
Two drops of red food colour
2 tbsp chocolate chips (you may substitute with chocolate shavings)
For Cream Cheese Frosting:
1 tsp unsalted butter
1 tbsp cream cheese (softened)
A few drops of vanilla essence
1/2 tbsp powdered sugar
Method:
Add all the dry ingredients — flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder and salt — to a mug and mix well. Now add the buttermilk, vegetable oil and food colour, and mix to form a smooth batter. Stir in the chocolate chips. Microwave for a minute and fifteen seconds.
In a separate bowl, combine all the ingredients for the cream cheese frosting and mix well.
Finally, top your freshly baked red velvet cake with the frosting and dig in!

3. Chocolate Mug Cake

4 tbsp maida
1 and 1/2 tbsp cocoa powder (unsweetened)
1/4 tsp baking powder

A tiny pinch of salt
4-5 tbsp milk

1 tbsp Nutella (you may substitute with any melted chocolate)
Method:

1 tbsp granulated sugar

1/4 tsp baking powder

1 tbsp milk
A few drops of vanilla essence

1/4 tsp cinnamon powder

Mix the maida, baking powder, granulated sugar, salt, and coffee powder in a mug. Add the oil, milk, and vanilla essence, and whisk well. Microwave the batter for a minute. Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon on top, and enjoy!

1 egg yolk
1 tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp sprinkles (optional)
For Frosting:
2 tbsp unsalted butter (softened)
2 tbsp powdered sugar
1 teaspoon milk
A tiny drop of red/pink food colour (optional)
Method:
In a mug, combine the maida, sugar, and baking powder. Add the egg yolk, milk, unsalted butter and vanilla extract, and mix well. Stir in the sprinkles and microwave for a minute.
For the frosting, whisk together all the ingredients until they form a smooth paste.
Spread the frosting on top of your colourful vanilla cake, and enjoy it with every spoonful.

2 and 1/2 tbsp maida
2 tbsp powdered brown sugar
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp cinnamon
2 tbsp milk
2 tbsp salted butter (melted and cooled)
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Method:
Whisk together all the ingredients in a mug and microwave for a minute and a half. Generously drizzle some more brown sugar and cinnamon powder on top for the perfect snickerdoodle finish.
7. Peanut Butter Mug Cake

2 tbsp maida
1/4 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp powdered brown sugar
1 tbsp unsalted butter
3 tbsp creamy peanut butter
1 egg
1 tbsp strawberry/mixed fruit jam
Method:
Mix the maida, baking powder, and brown sugar in a mug. Whisk in the peanut butter, egg, and unsalted butter. Scoop out some of the batter in a large spoon, layer in the jam, and add the remaining batter back on top. Microwave for a minute and enjoy while still warm.
