Pratyush Dua, aka Pratman, a young social media influencer, is on the brink of reaching 10 million followers. His whole life revolves around his phone, so much so that he even slaps his father when he tries to take it away from him for a minute. From going to a grocery store to reacting to something online, everything is content for him, even his past relationship. To hit the required follower count and maintain his virality, Pratyush does everything to entertain his audience. When he thinks he will easily reach the target, a fellow influencer, Ankita, comes to compete with him. But this doesn’t scare him until something worse happens.

Pratman’s phone gets stolen, and what should have been a minor inconvenience spirals into full-blown psychological chaos. Through his smartphone, a fan takes complete control of Pratyush’s life and threatens him. Pratyush is devastated and asks her for the ransom amount. However, she has only one simple demand – to have a Laila-Majnu love story with Pratyush in return for his phone. If this doesn’t happen, she threatens to permanently deactivate Pratyush’s account, erasing his entire life in seconds. Will Pratyush give in to her obsession?

Logout movie review: A compelling story

The movie is a brilliant psychological thriller. From the very first second to the gripping end, Logout keeps you hooked. It won’t give you jumpscares, but it will compel you to reflect on the scary world we live in. Is social media all we have presently? Are online influencers real, or do they just pretend to be? Are you sure you’re the decision-maker of your life? Or are those influencers using you as their puppet? Logout seeks these answers through a captivating plot.

The film is packed with relatable scenes that will catch you by surprise. The scenes where Pratyush loses his calm when he doesn’t remember his sister’s phone number works as a wake-up call for the audience. The movie also stars Rasika Dugal in a supporting role. While her screen time is not as much as we would’ve liked, she leaves a significant impact with her performance.

Babil Khan: The star performer of Logout

After remarkable performances in Friday Night Plan, Qala, and now Logout, Babil Khan proves that he is here to stay. Starring in the lead, Babil does justice to his character, Pratyush, with his fine acting. He carries the film single-handedly and delivers 108 minutes of pure entertainment. His raw performance captures our everyday reality splendidly. In the movie, Babil’s acting mirrors the viewer’s reaction. It’s almost like the audience and Pratyush undergo the same emotions in different settings.

Babil delicately portrays anxiety and desperation, and you can see it in the smallest ways on screen. The way his fingers quiver with the increasing number of followers or love from the audience reflects Babil’s excellence. Furthermore, Babil doesn’t try to get our attention, unlike his character in the movie. His outstanding performance gets it naturally.

Logout is a must-watch if you want to understand the dark side of social media before it consumes you entirely.

Can you watch Logout with your family?: If profanity is okay with your family, go ahead. There are short, funny scenes portraying the fictional “Bumpy Ride” trend that features playful partial nudity.
