1. Su From So (2025)

This Kannada supernatural comedy follows an evil spirit that haunts a peaceful village. Directed by JP Thuminad, the film is about Ashoka, a nonchalant guy whose innocent crush sparks a debate that he’s possessed by a female ghost named Sulochana. Su From So dives into the deep-rooted Indian superstitions through a light-hearted plot.

2. Bhoot Bungla (1965)

Before Bollywood launched the modern horror comedy craze, it gave us the OG blockbuster, Bhoot Bungla. The movie follows the murder of Kundanlal, which compels his family to escape the town. Enter Rekha, the daughter of Kundanlal’s nephew, Ramlal. Rekha returns from London to meet her father, only to find that he’s dead. As she sets out to find her father’s killer, Rekha experiences eerie moments that scare her. Directed by Mehmood, Bhoot Bungla is among the best Indian horror comedies, keeping you guessing and giggling throughout.

3. Munjya (2024)

This is another supernatural comedy from MHCU that will entertain you while delivering jump scares. The story follows Bittu (Abhay Verma), a young guy who unexpectedly crosses paths with the lovelorn ghost, Munjya. The ghost yearns to get married to his beloved, Munni, whom he couldn’t marry when he was alive. Will Bittu get out of this mess alive, or will Munjya kill him?

4. Kakuda (2024)

Starring Sonakshi Sinha, Riteish Deshmukh, and Saqib Saleem, Kakuda proves that small towns and big curses make the best Indian horror comedies. The movie follows a cursed village where every house has two doors: one for humans and the other for the ghost Kakuda. They must open their doors every Tuesday at a specific time for the ghost to enter. But hell breaks loose when a newlywed couple forgets to keep their door open, angering Kakuda.

5. Roohi (2021)

Ever heard about a ghost who loves to crash weddings? Roohi will show you one. The story follows two reporters, Bhawra and Kattanni, who kidnap a young girl, Roohi, to get her married to one of their boss’ clients. But their plan backfires when they discover that a spirit possesses her. What follows is a hilariously spooky story exploring love and friendship.

6. Kanchana 2 (2015)

Directed by Raghava Lawrence, the Tamil horror comedy is about a TV channel firm that creates fake ghosts as part of its marketing scheme. But their plan lands them in trouble when real ghosts start chasing the employees. Kanchana 2‘s eerie plot will send chills down your spine while making you nervously laugh.

Imagine this: A regular pizza delivery turns into a nightmare as the customer’s house is haunted. That’s exactly what the Vijay Sethupathi-starrer Pizza explores. With unexpected twists and jump scares, the movie blends suspense with comedy to keep you entertained.
