The big, fat Indian wedding is known across the world now. Our weddings are supposed to be the epitome of colour and entertainment. The typical Indian wedding is grand, loud, has hundreds of guests (sometimes, thousands), and they cost a large fortune. The bride and groom barely know their guests at such affairs. The guests attend as a formal obligation or an excuse to drink and eat for free. With all the stress of planning and executing those elaborate plans, it’s very rare to see a couple have fun on their own wedding.

But sometimes, a wedding comes along that warms our hearts with its intimacy and complete lack of wasteful expenditure. One such wedding was held in Bangalore recently. Sriram and Asha had a small court wedding with only 15 guests. But what they didn’t compromise on was great wedding pictures. Their wedding album proves that you don’t need a big, fancy wedding to have beautiful, memorable pictures of your big day. The pictures of their court wedding, taken by wedding photographer Sowmya Mense, are fun, colourful and involve all their closest family and friends.

Have a look at some of the pictures below to see what we’re talking about.

This intimate court wedding only proves that you don’t need a week-long party and dozens of ceremonies to make your wedding memorable. Sometimes, 15 guests are far more valuable than a crowd of hundreds.
