From Rihanna performing live for the first time in eight years to the who’s who of the world in attendance, the Ambani festivities over the last weekend were celestial levels of grand. But we know what you’re thinking. Kharcha kitna hua hoga?
Well, here is the answer you’re looking for.
The festivities
The first day of the Ambani-Merchant pre-wedding was called ‘An Evening in Everland’, a cocktail-themed party. Day 2 featured an adventurous ‘Walk on the Wildside’ where the guests toured Anant Ambani’s animal rescue centre. This was followed by ‘Mela Rouge’, a Moulin Rouge-inspired carnival. The final day followed the theme ‘Tusker Trails’, a day of exploring Vantara. The festivities concluded with a ‘Hashtakshar’ ceremony, an evening showcasing the beauty of Indian heritage.
According to several news reports, the three-day, modern fairytale-like pre-wedding bash hosted by Mukesh and Nita Ambani cost only ₹1,260 crore.
Quite the bargain, don’t you think?
The grand Rihanna performance
Rihanna was a star performer at the Anant Ambani-Radhika Merchant pre-wedding. She set Jamnagar on fire with her chart-topping numbers that common folk like us will probably never hear live. According to a report by India Today, the singing sensation was paid a whopping ₹66 to ₹74 crore to perform at the event.
Musical extravaganza
Rihanna was not the only musical artist to set the stage alight. Several other popular singers also made their presence felt. Diljit Dosanjh regaled the audience with his music and is said to have charged around ₹4 crore for his performance. Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal also gave a memorable performance to celebrate the happy couple. While Singh reportedly charges ₹5 crore for private events, Ghoshal charges ₹25 lakh for a single song. The other notable performers of the evening included Akon, who reportedly charges between ₹2-₹4 crore for private performances, Pritam, Udit Narayan, B Praak, Shaan, Neeti Mohan, and more.
The grand feast
The catering for the event was reportedly contracted to one of India’s leading five-star hotel groups and is said to have cost a staggering ₹200 crore. It was reported that the event had an extensive menu that included Parsi, Thai, Mexican, Japanese, and pan-Asian dishes. Around 2,500 dishes were served over three days and none of the items in the menu were repeated. It was also reported that there were 75 types of dishes for breakfast, 225 types of lunch dishes, 275 options for dinner, and 85 items for a midnight meal.
To say the Anant Ambani-Radhika Merchant pre-wedding soiree was an opulent affair would be an understatement. And we haven’t even gone into the cost of the jewellery and the custom-made outfits that probably go into crores.
