Amitabh Bachchan is one of the biggest names in Indian cinema. With over 200 films and a career spanning more than five decades, he has rightfully earned titles like Shahenshah of Bollywood and Sadi Ke Mahanayak. But while Bachchan Senior rules the box office, there’s one place he seems to be stuck – X, formerly Twitter. Recently, Big B shared a post on X saying his follower count had plateaued at 49 million, and he asked people to suggest ways to grow it. As expected, this ignited chaos online. The replies were as creative as they were unhinged. Here are some of the funniest and most bizarre responses Amitabh Bachchan received.
Elon Musk, Grok, and good old drama

Many people tagged Grok, the AI chatbot created by Elon Musk’s xAI, hoping it could work its algorithmic magic. Others suggested Big B go straight to the source, Elon Musk himself. After all, if anyone can flip a follower switch, it’s Elon.
But then came the wildcard suggestions. One user recommended he post a video fighting with Jaya Bachchan. Another suggested starting online drama with someone. Imagine Amitabh Bachchan subtweeting someone. X would explode.
The Rekha factor

Several users had one clear strategy: rekindle the internet’s favourite nostalgia trip. “Just post one selfie with Rekha ji,” someone wrote. A surprising number of people echoed this, firmly believing that one photo could break the algorithm and the internet.
Then came the regional love. One sweet (and slightly hilarious) suggestion was for Big B to start posting in Bhojpuri. We don’t know how to react to that.
X-istential crisis

A few people took the simple route: “Follow people back, sir.” Old-school, but hey, it’s worked for many. You follow, they follow, everybody wins. And finally, we got one tweet that went straight for the existential jugular: “People with 49 followers are unhappy. People with 49 million are also unhappy. No one is happy in this world.” We came here for follower hacks and got served a midweek crisis. Classic X.
While Big B’s follower count may be stuck, his film career definitely isn’t. He was last seen in Kalki 2898 AD and Vettaiyan, and he is now working on Ramayana: Part 1 with Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi, slated for release in 2026.
