“Is that when you started doing pull-ups?”
On being asked how their relationship has evolved, Richa said, “When we first met, we were friends for a while. So, it wasn’t really romantic at the outset.” Bani further asked if there was any moment when they felt there was more to just friendship between them. “For sure,” Ali replied. “Actually the second time I met her. I just thought she was really smart”. He further added, “I love this combination of smart and clumsy. Sudden goofiness happens in the middle of this flex (Richa’s intelligence).”
While recalling this memory, Richa suddenly remembered how he started to flex his muscles to impress her. She said, “Is that when you started doing pull-ups? Oh, he was literally flexing and he thought I was intellectually flexing… It’s just, we took a while, honestly. Even after the filming, we were only hanging out.”
“I’m not that stupid”
Do you know that feeling when you doubt yourself, but one charming person gives you attention? And suddenly, you feel like the main character of your life. That’s what happened to Ali Fazal when Richa Chadha started talking to him. “I never used to take myself seriously. I always thought that I was a little dumb. But then when somebody like that (Richa) starts liking you… You’re like, oh wait, I’m not that stupid,” said Ali.
“I was a bit flirtatious”
When Bani asked Ali what he had done to get female attention, Richa remarked, “Oh, everything.” She shared small, cute moments between them when he’d subtly flirt with her in the initial dating phase. Richa recalled how he said to her “Oh, do you have a lemon wedge to go with this coke?… Or achaar hai kya?” Ali shyly agreed and said, “I was a bit flirtatious… I am.”
She further called him a ‘lover of people’ as he enjoys doing little things for everyone. The couple recalled the mushy notes flight attendants would give to Ali. “I keep getting those notes all the time. Thank you for flying with us, Ali. You’re so sweet. They write these long things. It’s very sweet.” To that, Richa gently added, “Actors get it, even female ones. I’m just saying.”
