Having acne-prone skin that breaks out at the drop of a hat has been quite a nightmare for me. And like me, tons of people deal with hyperpigmentation, dull, and dehydrated skin. Also, like me, many people can’t break their bank accounts to get the latest skincare products. Yes, I’m talking about you, snail mucin.
But is there anything a good old DIY face mask can’t fix? The DIY rice flour face masks I’m seeing all over Instagram are blowing my mind. Here are some recipes that you can try to achieve glowing, glass-like skin.
1. Rice flour, turmeric, and cream mask for hyperpigmentation
Ingredients:
1 tbsp rice flour
2 tsp fresh cream
1 pinch turmeric powder
Method:
In a bowl, combine rice flour, fresh cream, and turmeric powder. Now, apply the mask on your face and neck evenly and let it sit for about 15 minutes. Once dry, rinse it off with cold water. Apply once a week for best results.
2. Gram and rice flour mask for dark circles
Ingredients:
1 tbsp rice flour
1 tbsp gram flour
1/2 cup tomato juice
One pinch of turmeric powder
Method:
Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Now, apply the mask all over your face and under the eyes evenly and let it sit for about 30 minutes. Gently wipe it off with a wet cloth and then rinse off with cold water. Follow it up with a moisturiser. Apply once a week for best results.
3. Cucumber, aloe vera, and rice flour mask for hydration
Ingredients:
2 tbsp rice flour
3 tbsp aloe vera gel
2 tbsp grated cucumber
Method:
Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and whisk till they are mixed well. Apply the mask all over your face and neck and let it sit for about 20 minutes. Additionally, you could slice some extra cucumber and put it over your eyes for some relaxation. Then, rinse it off with warm water. Apply this DIY rice flour face mask twice a week for plump and hydrated skin.
4. Rice flour and castor oil mask for acne scars
Ingredients:
2 tbsp rice flour
5 drops of castor oil
1 tbsp rose water
Method:
In a bowl, combine all the ingredients till it comes to the desired consistency. Apply it all over your face and massage it for 5-10 minutes before rinsing off with warm water. Doing this thrice a week will help in fading your acne scars.
5. Green tea and rice flour mask to control excessive oil
Ingredients:
1 tbsp rice flour
1/2 cup boiled green tea
1 tbsp lemon juice
Method:
Boil the green tea in water and set it aside to cool. Meanwhile, combine rice flour and lemon juice in a bowl. Once cool, pour the green tea into this mix and stir till it comes to the desired consistency. Apply and leave it on for 20 minutes. Rinse off with cold water. Use this DIY rice flour face mask twice a week to control excess sebum and oil production.
6. Oats, honey, and milk mask for exfoliation
Ingredients:
2 tbsp rice flour
1 tsp oats
1 tsp organic honey
3 tbsp milk
Method:
In a bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix till you get a lump-free paste. Now, apply this evenly on your face and neck and leave it for 20 minutes. Once it starts drying, rinse it off with cool water. Apply it twice a week to exfoliate and remove dead skin cells.
7. Milk and rice flour mask for tan removal
Ingredients:
4 tbsp rice flour
3 tbsp milk
Method:
Combine milk and rice flour in a bowl till there are no lumps and you have a fine paste. Now, apply it on your face, neck, and any other tanned areas. Let it sit for 20-30 minutes. Then massage it lightly and wash it off with cold water. This DIY rice flour face mask will leave you with baby-soft skin and give you a brighter complexion.
