Are you even a Shah Rukh Khan fan if you don’t instantly picture him the moment you hear the word ‘Bollywood’? It’s SRK’s 60th birthday soon, and the industry is celebrating the Shah Rukh Khan Film Festival to honour his craft and devotion to cinema. His most-loved films, including Dil Se, Devdas, Jawan and Chennai Express, among other gems, are re-releasing in theatres worldwide. While these movies prove SRK’s brilliance, there are iconic scenes from other films that deserve a theatre comeback too. From romance to emotional monologues that had us bawling, here are some iconic scenes of SRK that deserve to be watched on the big screen again.

1. The 70-minute scene from Chak De! India

SRK stole the show with this monologue in Chak De! India. His character didn’t just motivate the players in the movie, but continues to encourage us to win something, anything. The fire in SRK’s eyes in this scene, his quiet intensity, and those inspiring words still give us goosebumps.

2. The diary scene from Kal Ho Naa Ho

When it comes to romance, no one does it like SRK, and the iconic diary scene from Kal Ho Naa Ho proves it. When Aman pretends to read Rohit’s blank diary but is really confessing his own love for Naina, it’s heartbreak and romance rolled into one. Only SRK could make us smile through tears like that.

3. The proposal scene from My Name Is Khan

My Name Is Khan is among SRK’s most underrated movies, in which he delivered several heartbreaking scenes. But one of the sweetest scenes of the movie is the one where Rizwan (SRK) shows his beloved Mandira (Kajol) a dreamy landscape. The way he smiles shyly, deep into his character, when Mandira proposes to him, will easily make your heart skip a beat.

4. The chase scene from Main Hoon Na

When SRK isn’t teaching a love lesson, you’ll find him delivering a fierce action scene. One such moment is when SRK’s Major Ram from Main Hoon Na leaps onto a rickshaw with a gun in his hand, chasing the terrorist’s jeep on an isolated route. His goofy hero swag and that charming smile are pure cinema.

5. The drunk speech from Om Shanti Om

Haven’t we all rehearsed a fictional winning speech for that one moment of our lives that will reflect our efforts? So when Shah Rukh Khan delivered this monologue as Om, it validated our little dreams. The moment he goes up on the stage with a beer in his hand and his heart on his sleeve, SRK made us all root for him.

6. The mela scene Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham

Are you even an old school romantic if you don’t smile like a fool watching Rahul flirt with Anjali in this scene? That’s the magic of SRK. He’s smooth, mischievous, and totally magnetic here.

7. The electricity scene from Swades

Shah Rukh Khan as Mohan in Swades is always a delight to watch. Do you remember the scene where he generates electricity in the village and the light bulb starts to glow? It wasn’t just electricity; he became the hope of the entire village in the movie. And just like that, SRK stunned the audience with a character that revealed his range as an actor.
