The much-awaited series, The Ba***ds Of Bollywood, has finally hit the OTT screens. Directed by Aryan Khan, Netflix’s latest release has got the fans in a chokehold. Aryan has unleashed a world of drama, goofiness, action, and the cutthroat nature of the film industry in his debut, and people are loving it. The show features an ensemble cast with Lakshya Lalwani, Sahher Bambba, Anya Singh, Raghav Juyal, Manoj Pahwa, Bobby Deol, Mona Singh, and Manish Chaudhari in prominent roles. So, is the show worth the hype? Read our review of The Ba***ds Of Bollywood to find out.

From struggle to stardom, the journey of an outsider in Bollywood

The Ba***ds Of Bollywood follows the journey of an outsider, Aasmaan Singh (Lakshya Lalwani), trying to make it big in the cutthroat Bollywood industry, which is already crawling with nepo kids. From round table conferences (remember Ananya Panday and Siddhant Chaturvedi?) to having the enemies-to-lovers trope, Aasmaan is trying to make a name for himself. And when Karan Johar offers him his next movie, he drops his debut producer, Freddy (Manish Chaudhari), like it’s hot.

Paired against Karishma Talwar (Sahher Bambaa), the daughter of famous actor Ajay Talwar (Bobby Deol), he is yet to discover the glamorous but very dark side of the industry. He has already rubbed Ajay the wrong way, and the angry, protective dad is in no mood to have Karishma debut with Aasmaan. So, with Freddy and Ajay trying to end his career before it takes off, will Aasmaan find a way to get himself out of the mess? Or will he play the dirty game and come out as the winner?

Aryan Khan brings a hilarious story with self-aware digs that’ll have you in splits

Aryan Khan’s directorial debut is a full-on Bollywood paisa vasool masala. From a storyline that keeps you hooked to real-life Bollywood instances and dramas, AK knows how to work a satire. His characters fit in like pieces of a puzzle, with each one adding its own flair. Lakshya Lalwani as Aasmaan Singh is convincing, dramatic, and fearless. He isn’t scared of anyone or anything and shines in his role. Sahher Bambba, as Karishma, plays the nepo kid who grew up in his father’s overwhelming shadow. She does a fair job of portraying the spoilt but softie character. Raghav Juyal as Parvaiz, Aasmaan’s best friend, is hilarious, witty, and ridiculously good in his role.

Manoj Pahwa as Avtaar, Aasmaan’s uncle, is earnest and hysterical and a no-nonsense man. And as always, he doesn’t fail to impress you with his craft. Anya Singh as Sanya, Aasmaan’s manager, is a boss woman who effortlessly grounds people with her truth bombs. The rest of the cast, including Manish Chaudhari, Bobby Deol, Mona Singh, Vijayant Kohli, Gautami Kapoor, Rajat Bedi, Arshad Warsi, and Meherzan Mazda, blend in seamlessly. Their characters shape the story, and all of them deliver some really fine performances. But that’s not all; the endless Bollywood cameos will make for a pleasant and hilarious surprise.

That’s all for the review of The Ba***ds Of Bollywood, which is now streaming on Netflix.

Can you watch it with your family?: The show features abusive language and explicit content, which could make it an uncomfortable family watch.
