2024, the year of Brain Rot, proved the same for the Bollywood industry as well. This year saw several releases re-releases of some of our favourite Bollywood films. New releases were scarce but we did get some memorable new films like Stree 2, Murder Mubarak, Laapata Ladies, and Crew. But other films tested our tolerance beyond human limits. Here is Team All About Eve’s list of the worst Bollywood films of 2024.

1. Ishq Vishk Rebound

This movie is our official plea to stop the remakes of our comfort Bollywood classics. Cringe-worthy acting, poor script, and an awkward, stereotypical portrayal of Gen Z are the crux of the movie. The only good thing was that it made us rewatch the original Ishq Vishk.

2. Ae Watan Mere Watan

I love patriotic movies but the direction of this film made me think otherwise. This movie is a prime example of how to waste a good story with a terrible lead actor.

3. Crakk

No explanation is needed, the title of the movie says it all. The tagline of the movie reads, Jeetega… Toh Jiyegaa. Watching this movie was an extreme sport and we won, can we get rewarded now? The action sequences are good but that’s it. The movie lacks terribly in its narrative, acting, and direction which was poorly enhanced with bad VFX.

4. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan

The duo felt like they were running on steroids as they went over the top with action, completely neglecting dialogue delivery, emotions, and other important things that make a movie. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is the exact description of the word Brain Rot. The so-called humour left us weeping. The best part of the movie was when it finally ended.

5. Sikandar Ka Muqaddar

This movie tested our curiosity like no one else. The plot never reaches its climax while we desperately question – When will they reveal the truth? Halfway through the movie, I didn’t even want to know what would happen next because there wasn’t any point. Our beloved Majnu, Avinash Tiwary, had to bear the brunt of a terrible script and it showed.

6. Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya

This Bollywood movie was among the worst ones of 2024 for two members of our team. They struggled to sit through the movie which had the most awkward lead pairing we have seen in recent times. The scenes featuring Shahid Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia felt too forced. Teri Baaton Mein Uljha Jiya ends abruptly, leaving everyone disappointed.

7. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3

Can Bollywood stop exploiting the sheer talent of rare gems like Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit through weak scripts? Part three of this franchise, like the second one, dodged logic in the most boring and chaotic way possible. The movie failed to bring a single laugh out of us.

8. Fighter

The movie tried hard to compete with Pathaan and Jawan but failed miserably. The idea had some potential but didn’t turn out great due to flawed direction. Moreover, the hook step of the song Sher Khul Gaye is so annoying that it still haunts me in my dreams.

9. Munjya

It’s surprising how 2024 witnessed the release of a banger horror comedy like Stree 2 and then gave us a disaster like Munjya. The actual scary elements lie in the anticipation of horror as it never shows up on the screen. Munjya was easily one of the worst Bollywood movies of 2024.
