Yes, we were confused too. But the mathematical breakdown of an 18-inch pizza and two 12-inch pizzas proves this fact to be correct. An 18-inch pizza is 254 square inches while two 12-inch pizzas together are 226 square inches. This has shaken both pizza lovers and math experts on Twitter.
As one Twitter user said, “This must be quantum physics. I hear all kinds of strange things happen there.”
But this logic doesn’t work if you want more crust, as one Twitter user pointed out.
Two 12-inch pizzas will give you significantly more crust than one 18-inch pizza. So if you like a stuffed crust, or just a plain crust, order two 12-inch pizzas. But if you want more cheese, meat and other delicious toppings, order one 18-inch pizza. Not only will that be more economical, it will give you more food. When your friends come over next time, try explaining this to them. They won’t believe you, so just order one 18-incher and prove your point.
